Thank god! I’m really glad you guys are making sure the game is stable and smooth before pumping in new content

Always loved your

PLAYYYYY~~ DIRTY!!!

While surprisingly Thunder isn’t the only reason I’m playing this game, this vid gave me a crystal clear reason why DB is such a precious jewel among all online FPS game I’ve ever played.

Eventhough your June Fine Tuning was so mediocre and update speed was Turtle - Slow,

I still hope DB will rise and reach the paramount ANYTIME.

I love you Pineapple Damage.

Yay finally bugs are getting fixed.

Btw, I don’t know if you have an update schedule already but if you don’t, after you fix the bugs (or at least the important ones) can you please start working on the Turtle update? I and I’m pretty sure that most of the community would like to see Turtle in the next major update, the last merc we had added was released over 3 months ago (start of April if I remember right). I know that it’s not easy to make mercs but still, I think 4 months is a bit too much between new mercs

Sigh so rather than actually making fixes to the crafting system we get a temporary event… Why address problems when we can just throw a temporary band-aid on it!

This is definitely not the right place for it, but what problems do you see with the crafting system? After stuffing everything in a spreadsheet and churning I figure it’s pretty much the same if you start from zero.

The only thing about it that broke was people in the middle of the old progression lost 30% to 50% of their upgrade value when they switched, because silver and gold cards recycle for so little. The 20%/-20% event gives us a window to recycle and build at essentially the old silver/gold upgrade values. Silver and golds recycle for so little that I don’t think people will buy them where before they were at least a step on the journey to cobalt.

The one thing I don’t understand is why they mix fragments and cash, but then also reduce the number of fragments you get back when you recycle. Either craft for x frags + y credits and recycle for x frags or craft for x frags and recycle for a little less. They could really just recycle for credits. Wait a minute, fragments = gift certificates. They are worth money, but more narrow in scope and once you buy them you can’t get your money back.

Okay, maybe it’s broken, but broken only to the degree that they could fiddle with the numbers a little and fix it.

Here is what’s wrong.

  1. Removed Progression, Now we just keep recycling cards into dust trying to save up for whatever colored card we want. Why bother stepping through gold or silver at all to make a worthless now undervalued card?
  2. Undervalued Trade ins for overvalued cards. It now not only takes more silver cards to make a gold, but also more credits. And it’s even worse for Gold to Cobalt.
  3. This system only helps people who only ever get lead-Iron cards, get anything higher then that and you start losing value compared to the old system
  4. also… 45 weapon kits for choosing the main gun on a Cobalt… please… so excessive.
  5. Most Veterans were hoping the new system would remove the RNG of getting their desired cards, but instead it added a new thing to grind for (Weapon kits/Crafting kits).

The old System let people use spare Credits to slowly increase the rarity in their cards, it had a good feeling of progression. Now we just have to sit on a pile of fairy dust until both it’s number and the Number of credits we have matches the requirement for a cobalt. It’s just so bland.

All this being said. The Crafting system is literally the only problem I have with this video. everything else sounds like It’ll help Revitalize the community a bit… But please… Please don’t try to stick to your guns on this new crafting system… It still feels like SD is going with “Confidence over Competence”

I think that’s not true. They calculated the value of a case by multiplying the % by the recycle value. It comes out to ~65 fragments and regression toward the mean will bring you closer to that number the more cases you open. Even if you get lucky after 10 cases you’ll eventually get back to ~65 fragments per case in the long term.

Yes, RNG hell is true, but it is the way to making addicts spend money. I suspect it also doubles as an excuse to let people to secretly pay for stuff. If you could only get cobalts by paying, then it would be obvious someone paid for their cobalt. And yes, the crafting kits are lame, but if you don’t use them you’re left with the old system, so it isn’t a step backwards or anything. I think it might be worse for the game if it were too easy to get your complete set of cobalts. Still, RNG is not the right way to make the progression longer.

Yes, the feeling of progression has been lost and there’s no reason to buy into silver or gold anymore. I’m trying to decide if I should just grind all my gold cards into dust during the 20/20 event since we’re really just gambling for cobalt cards at this point, right?

As for bland, I see what you mean. They might as well get rid of fragments and use credits to craft cards with all the current case/craft options. Match case drops could be replaced with a random draw of bonus credits. The result would be about the same.

Stick to their guns on the crafting system? Shoot, I hope they abandon the whole freaking card system entirely, but fat chance. They should learn from TF2 and do costume items with the only way to trade by an auction system that charges a fee.

I have found the crafting system to be an interesting beast. It is very similar to the previous system but some of the flaws found in the previous system are more obvious in the new one. Plus it has it’s own issues. I personally think the new systems needs some adjustments and am curious as to what will happen to it in the near future, if anything. We shall see. I hope for the best.
