My third and final ET map as im keen to move onto Doom3 so please excuse this if it feels a bit rough round the edges.

Allies must steal some radar parts and axis have gotta stop em. There are some water pumps as well to make things more interesting. This map has had almost no testing so im looking for any suggestions to improve it. I plan to finalise all of my maps after christmas so any ideas to make this, cathedral and townsquare better please let me know

Cool architecture.
Looks good, be sure to blend those paths through the courtyard

I’ve just had a look at the map.

I love the idea with the two water-pumps.
One clears one way and the second one another.

Architecture is great.

Only thing I have seen is a HOM effect looking through one of the “underwater” arches at allied spawn (right hand side if viewing towards the palace).

Great map.

Yes, can you just lower some ceilings??? Otherwise, I feel like I’m actually in a room with vaulted ceilings…and we wouldn’t want ET maps to actually feel real, would we???

Again, awesome looking map. And I truly wish I could make buildings like that. :notworthy:

I know it has been repeated several times, the architecture is amazing. The wurzburg-esque sky doesn’t look right though, I’d recommend something brighter and less cloudier.

BTW your computer must be loaded, having an FPS like that! :o

Looks bloody good and promises to provide a lot of very good gameplay - although if I uncap my fps ET gets rather confused due to the ludicrous frame rate I can achieve and lags all over the shop :banana:

I’ll try and convince someone to have a 6v6 with us on it tomorrow and let you know what we find*.

*If I can keep folks out of the juicer, which could be tricky as it’s a Friday and all.

I feel i should point out that the main facade is based on my interpretation of a real palace in Aranjuez Spain, so credit for the architecture goes to an 18th century Italian called Giacomo Bonavia. Everything else, all the interiors, inner courtyard, gate, gatehouse and tunnels are mine. Making this kind of building is really easy compared to terrian stuff and scripting

EDIT: also i made an effort to use stock textures only to keep the file size tiny as my experience suggests that people are more likely to download a map if it is a small download so im quite pleased that the file size is only 2.56mb

only a minor point: I think the water in the park shouldn’t be an oasis water, its too transparent. In that kind of ponds you can’t look to the ground. (Ok, this would require a custom texture.)

I don’t know if this is supposed to be a comp map or not, but my post is from a pubbers perspective…

  1. It would have been nice to see the radar parts on the command map, especially when playing the map for the first time.

  2. Walking along the walls is really annoying. Not only do you get stuck when moving backwards, there’s also some humping movement going on. :stuck_out_tongue: When you crouch and move the windows will also be in the way. (I’d personnally like invisible brushes or something that makes it feel smooth.)

  3. The doorways around axis spawn are too narrow, only one at a time can pass. The first exit was pretty much impossible to use because of that (one allied medic camped outside and put 3 in the head of anyone coming through).

It looks amazing!
