Suggestion: Wolf: ET Remakes?

Is there a possibility that at least one Enemy Territory map will be available for play in Dirty Bomb? If so, what would your choice be if you could pick? Obviously these maps would be reworked to fit DB’s aesthetics as well as the objectives themselves.

Personally, I would love to see maps such as Goldrush, Special Delivery, Adlernest, etc.

Honestly, I am not sure how well ET’s maps would work with DB’s game play (For example, what would we use for the truck?), but I figured I would throw the idea out there to get some feedback on it.

So, here’s the thing. I don’t know it for sure, but I believe Activision has the rights for wolfET maps since they were the publishers. So, I don’t believe we will ever see the exact remakes of them.
Now, the reason why I say exact remakes…
Terminal is basically Oasis and Bridge is Gold Rush. Just smaller :slight_smile:

edit: and community maps…well…they could be possibly added. But again,
I don’t think they can just add their maps. Some creators would be OK with that, some would be angry and some would not care. And contacting them wouldn’t be easy task I guess.

I believe we will see more interesting stuff in the future, since sdk is planned :wink:

Yeah, I was thinking about this and it is definitely something to keep in mind. I wasn’t sure who would have the actual rights to the official maps so you certainly bring a good point. Guess that leaves Goldrush out of the equation

HOWEVER… I know a ton of community maps got pretty popular on ET as well. (i.e. as listed, Special Delivery, Adlernest) Could these maps be used or would these still be under the publisher’s grasp?

Theoretically IF it were possible though, what would you guys like to see?

I’ve edited my post before and added few lines about the community maps.
But nothing I wrote I know for sure. I don’t know under what terms the maps could be made etc.

Actually, Bridge is simlair to Goldrush and Terminal is like Oasis in terms of objectives, so I don’t think of there would be any problems with rights if SD made maps inpired by ET ones i case of objectives. ET maps base is huge so there are a lot of inspirations. And talking about maps I’d like to see in DB’s London scenario are Venice, Rail Gun and Supply.

But there is one problem with ET maps. Most of them could last almost an hour (in objective mode) so some thing should be removed or simplified to fit map to 15 minutes.

Even though I hated Radar in ET, a remake in terms of objectives for DB would be wonderful. Maybe add some rain in the map too since DB is due for some weather effects.
