Suggestion: Sprint as default

(overjoyedMelee) #1

Why not make sprinting as default. Is annoying to either hold down shift all the time or have to reset sprinting when spawning. Or maybe I missed a setting somewhere?

All of the time sprinting cancels a reload. If you were to have sprinting on by default you’d have to have to completely stop moving to reload and 9 times out of 10 that’ll get you killed

E: nvm, mi eyes went blind after reading half of the OP

more like 10 times out of 9

You know what? I completly agree

Isn’t that sprinting button the same almost in every game? (If we have to press a button for being able to sprint at first place.)
For me pressing shift is automatic, I don’t even have to think about it while I’m playing the game.
One of the rare moments when I’m not pressing the shift is the moment when I have a need to walk slowly with Phantom…

That would be easily fixed with just have reloading cancel sprinting instead. If you don’t have double time, you just walk while reloading. Just like you walk while firing.

I also have both toggle sprint and sprint cancels reload enabled, and I can’t remember a situation that canceled reload because I pressed w/d.

You could make a custom bind where holding W makes you sprint.

DB is the only game where I use sprint toggle on. It’s extremely handy when long jumping to have it turned on as it makes things quite a bit easier. It also eliminates the need to hold it as long as you do to traverse maps and you can instead focus on other things.

So if you aren’t doing this I’d highly recommend it for Dirty Bomb. Play became quite a bit easier once I saw that I could toggle that option.

-edit- Oh yeah, I also have sprint cancel my reloads turned on because getting out of danger > reloading and being super slow.
