Simple as that. The current maps can’t handle more than that. Those 8v8 kill fest are just terrible.
What is even worse, that there isn’t a 5v5 server available at all.
[Suggestion] Reduce every single server to be 5v5

I would leave 6vs6 ! Other should be removed or half of them changed to 5vs5!

Games would become even more of a stompfest and less forgiving for weaker players (which is the opposite of what you want from casual servers).
Also I don’t understand why you think the maps can’t handle the player numbers. It works just fine if you ask me, with a very reasonable amount of spam.

Just because you don’t like them doesn’t mean others don’t find them fun. Can’t find an empty 5v5 server? Autojoin is your friend until they add more.

5v5 is really where it’s at, and I hope that the number of servers running 5v5 matches is greatly increased.
Edit. There’s no 5v5 casual servers? Well no wonder it felt like there’s none.

I agree that 8v8 is terrible, but I don’t think they should remove them. Just because me and you don’t like them, it doesn’t mean others agree with us.
But they do need to add 5v5 casual servers.
I also think they should add server size on casual quick join. I would like to use quick join, but because it puts me on 8v8 servers I don’t.

I really like 8 vs. 8 servers! It makes the game more exciting! With everyone battling and stuff… sadly though there are lots of nooby players not sure what they are doing and I hope the beginners learn their ways

the nice thing about casual 8 vs 8 is that, due to the drop in and drop out nature of casual, team imbalance is slightly mitigated because the maps are made for 5 vs 5. This is obviously my opinion. But yeh experienced players are always gonna be using the server browser. It’s what happened with TF2 and it will happen here. personally i think it’s gonna be great when we can run our own servers so we get people dedicated to a single set. Has led to some great communities in TF2 and, i know this isn’t meant to be TF2, but it has the potential to be as great.

Too many smaller servers end up with people ragequitting, making it even harder for the losing team. Being on the weaker side definitely feels awful, based on how teamplay-focused the game is.

Yeh… once competitive ranking is in and the metrics implemented then competitive is gonna be fairly balanced (aside from maybe the first few weeks where everyone is in cluster fuck matches as placement). at least i hope so aha
