So, I know, many people aren’t pleased with the current Trade-up function.
And that’s where my idea comes in handy.
Right now it looks like this:
You want to trade-up for a specific loadout? Well, good luck trying mate!
My idea comes from another game I player. I don’t remember the name, but I’m sure the game had such a system.
Everything is based around the loadout numbers and how they affect a trade-up.
Every mercenary has 9 different loadouts.
Let’s take a hypothetical case. You want a Bronze M92 Skyhammer.
You start from nothing. Well, technically from Leads.
So you have a bunch of Leads. You need 3 Lead cards to trade for an Iron. And look at this. It happened that you have 7 Lead M92 Skyhammers from cases.
You combine 3 of them into an Iron.
And the trade-up doesn’t give you a random Skyhammer card, but a card you used as material for the Iron. In this case it’s a 100% chance for an Iron M92 Skyhammer since you used 3 M92 Leads.
For the next one you use 2 M92 and a random one. You have a 66.6% to get a M92, and a 33.3% to get the random card you used.
You did it. You got 2 Iron M92 Skyhammer cards.
The third trade-up. You use one M92 and 2 random cards. Each card has a 33.3% chance to become the iron.
And oh snap, you got a different one.
So now you have 2 Iron M92 Skyhammer and a random Iron card of a different merc.
You can trade-up to Bronze and get a 66.6% chance for a M92 Skyhammer since you use 2 same M92 irons.
The system keeps the amount of cards we need now for trade-ups, and the trade up cost.
You need 4 Bronzed for a Silver, 4 Silvers for a Gold, and 6 Golds for a Cobalt.
But now you can actually determine which cards you gonna get.
Okay, I admit, the system has pros and cons.
Pros:
-You can now safely Trade-up to get a certain loadout you want to have.
-Bronze loadouts in the shop will become more valuable since you can buy them to craft Silvers you want and so on.
Cons:
-You might need to grind more and need a bigger base of same lead cards which makes buying elite cases still lucrative.
-You still might get unwanted loadouts if you combine random cards.
What do you think of this?
