suggestion: hard core, females

I’m new to the forum but I’ve been playing brink since it came out and there has been 2 things i would really like to see.

  1. hard core mode(limited HUD servers): basically a game with no aim point (except when you actually aim), no ammo, health, supply amounts listed on HUD. along with no radar unless a op. com hacks the enemy

2.female avatars: i know a few lady friends that love games like this but they hate having to play as a dood. so why can’t they get an avatar they can dress up and embrace people with.

INB4 typical patriarchal male responses.

I think girls should be represented more in games of this type, and I see no reason for them not to be. I understand console limitations, but I don’t entirely by that Brink couldn’t have supported female avatars as some like to claim.

Yay, this again! \o/

1: hardcore mode was more than limited HUD. My view, attack is lemming as it is without dying quicker… I personally believe HC mode belongs to TDM.

2: the choice was limited customization and allow female models, or indepth customization and stick with males… the latter option won.

Expect the usual “Well you can’t play as males in some games like Tomb Raider, do you complain about that?” and the likes… this ain’t gonna go down well though.

They’ll probably be introducing female characters in a DLC down the road (pure speculation, I haven’t seen any mention of it) or with Brink 2 - provided it’s even developed. They didn’t create female characters because they wanted to emphasize customization and that would’ve taken a lot longer to make (this is what I remember seeing in an article referencing the complete lack of females in the game - could be off, but I believe that was the gist).

They could add it in the future though, a female focused DLC pack for instance.

More chance that the SDK would cater for this I guess.

Yeah not like most out there including myself just fail to see how you add in Females with all the custom look options and clothing not counting the three bodytypes. Just dont see how it could look right or be done fairly not to mention how much extra time would need to be put aside for it.

I mean really no point to do it if your just going to add a single token female that can only be a light body type. Not to mention all those who argue about how females fighting would fit into the story as SD has told it thus far. Its another debate that really is not needed on this site. Lol but for some reason i expect you to write half a book on it in a thread entirely dedicated to it. Just like every other opinion you come up with.

I think hardcore females would turn on a lot of new people to this game. We’d probably have new players coming every day.

i wasn’t realy complaining that whah there’s no girls to shoot me. it was just as fox said possible DLC in the future and i think a female in the FREAK outfit would be nice.

as for hard core yes in most games its used as a DM booster but as easy as it is to kill people in this game as it is i really didn’t see a need to boost the damage of guns, nades, and occasional kicks

I’m not really too bothered, but I’d think it’d 'cause problems with the hitboxes.
