I think it should have an reward to reach any rank, example: “You got Bronze League, your reward is a random bronze card.” and have customized “League/Competitive cases” for this. “You got Golden League, your reward is a random gold card.” and the name of the cases like a “Golden League Reward”, remember, its only a example. Need an reason to play competitive match, not play to have no gains or play only for play, it’s… boring. Sorry by my poor english, I’m a brazilian and… well… It’s all.

If ranks were hard to get, I’d agree. I’m gold 3 and I’m a complete noob, I’d put myself bronze 1- silver 5, but maybe that’s just due to low player count or something. On a side note, I hope they reset ranks on full release, and have a system like you describe.
