Suggestion: converting 1st ed. loadouts into 2nd ed. loadouts

(Dawnlazy) #1

With the incoming 2nd ed. loadouts next week, I have an idea where a player could perhaps pay a certain amount of credits to turn a loadout from the 1st ed. into a random 2nd ed. card for the same merc, in the same rarity. This would provide a solution for “useless” special edition loadouts from Containment War, What the Dickens and Rogue en Vogue, since theoretically 2nd ed. cards are being made so that none are considered truly bad, this way even if you don’t have your favorite loadouts you at least get something viable enough to avoid having those rare cards collecting dust in your barracks.

I’m suprised there’s so little outrage about this. There should absolutely be a way to change a 1st edition card to a corresponding 2nd edition one. 1-to-1, no tradein or RNG bullshit.

But that would be way too consumer friendly, so don’t get your hopes up.

I’m taking the sacrifice to the RNG gods into consideration, hence why I suggest spending credits (maybe up to 10k for cobalts and special edition ones) and getting a random loadout instead of the updated version from the first edition card. A random card wouldn’t be so bad given that all the new cards are going to be good in their own way (like how for the most part, since Phoenix was introduced we’ve seen a lot of different viable loadouts for new mercs).

Wow this seems sensible. Too bad sensible and SD don’t mix. It will most likely be a 50k fee and you need 2 cobalts/special cards and it can’t be of the same merc cuz F U.

Of course they should do that, as a sign of appreciation to their loyal, paying customers.

But they won’t. They want you to spend even more money on this game.

Yes, I’m a little salty, but look at it from my point of view. $300 (us) later, and their new loadout cards (released for ‘balance’ reasons :expressionless: ) make my entire inventory worthless.

None of the cards that I spent money, and time on earning credits to trade up / in will have value anymore. They’ll all be inferior, just watch and see.

I will be converting to the Bronze lifestyle if I decide to continue with this game, that’s for sure.

I have a ReV Kira (BR-16, bat) that I’d love to turn into a katana card.

Bronze4Life sounds cool and all, but consider that if you don’t have spare Irons, a Bronze will cost you at least 2500 credits. Meanwhile you’ll probably end up with a bunch of duplicate Bronzes because of RNG, and a Silver trade up costs 2000. So… Silver4Life?

Mate I’m just going to buy them from the store for 17.5, not even going to bother trading up at all, for the reason that you stated, excess cards.

Some of the “updated” gen 2 cards bring changes I don’t care about, having Chopper on the goddamn Stiletto is not going to make me ditch my M62 Fragger.

I sure as hell want this. I feel like I’ve wasted my cash now that these 2nd Gen are coming out. Just another thing that is making me even shakier about staying with DB.

In all fairness, 2nd Edition has been hinted at since at least the start of ReV (if that’s what you’re talking about). I pointed out on the forums that cards now said “First Edition” in the title the day after ReV went live, and I was probably a couple weeks late. If you mean money you’ve put in default cases from awhile back, I agree, but even at that time you knew you could easily buy cases and get crap cards like a stilleto Phantom.
