Suggestion: Berzerker Preorder Pack

(nincek) #1

So, as the title says, I will give a suggestion about a preorder pack that might be added in the game.

I’ve been thinking about a new preorder pack for quite some time, and I came to an idea that would be interesting.

So, first off, the name would be “Berzerker Preorder Pack”.

The features would be;

  1. Spiked shoulderpads, with either a wooden or steel plank, and of course, metal spikes, while on the biceps and triceps area, there would be wounds, maybe as a tattoo, or as real wounds (which I prefer because it’s more realistic).

  2. Shredded trousers, about 2/3 length, with various holes on them.

  3. The helmet would be a jaw-like construction made out of pure metal, with metal teeth and with some blood markings on them.

4 The weapon would be a grenade launcher, a very devastating one, similar to the M32 MGL, but made with the good ol’ BRINK fashion way. The launcher could be carried by a Normal or Heavy body type.

Additional M32 MGL info: It’s a semiautomatic launcher, housing 6-8 grenades, depending on the model. It can also fire additional and helpful gadgets/ammunition like a “Hawk-Eye”, which is controlled by a remote, and it shows the position of enemies on the ground, while scouting from the air. It can also fire Flares and highly flammable ammunition (grenades that is). Some of these extra ammunition types wouldn’t be very suitable in BRINK, like the “Hawk-Eye”

M32 MG :

Thank you for your time, and all critics / additions are welcome. I hope there is enough time to make this, and that SD approves it.

Nincek, over 'n out.

I thought of the juggernaught pack.

You basically get to wear a bulletproof/explosionproof bomb suit. And here’s the catch, it really works! Not just a cosmetic thing, you actually get to be bulletproof and withstand explosions. This would be the FIRST clothing that has actual impact in the game, how original is that?

And the weapon is the BFG from Doom:

The Rock explains the implications and subtle nuances of this elegant weapon to John Stewart:

Any criticism or suggestions are welcome.

Bahaha loving the subtle sarcasm.

@OP, the other pre-order weapons are pistols and similar small weapons, they picked small weapons because those wouldn’t affect the game too much. surely you must’ve thought about that? now what kind of effect do you think it would have if there was a “very devestating” grenade launcher in ONE pre-order pack?
not to mention i’m pretty sure i wouldn’t like how that “berzerker” looks

(Apples) #5

I can already see it :

After the panzernoodle, we now got the berzerknoob, brilliant

(nincek) #6

As in very devastating I didn’t mean any special abilities. Isn’t every grenade launcher “devastating”? The only advantage is that this would be a semiautomatic grenade launcher. Maybe there already are grenade launchers that are semiautomatic in the game, who knows?

(tokamak) #7

I do, and there are already grenade launchers in the game automatic and manual versions. I already hope that the weapons that are in the pre-order packs are cosmetic of nature and if not cosmetic still have counterparts in the full version that resemble them closely.

Handing out highly specialises equipment to pre-order packs however is a huge mistake. It means that only a select amount of players can fulfil the specialist role.

You clearly had a role in mind with your pre-order back. A grenade launcher maniac with the appropriate looks. It’s foolish to make such a distinct assignment a collector’s item. Commercial deals should be gimmicks and nothing but gimmicks. Even Blizzard, with a 5 year history of handing out in-game content for cash hasn’t gone down the route of selling gameplay advantages.

(madoule) #8

You have to admit, the idea is falling into pieces, reading the posts of the others. All other extra weapons are skins. Your suggestion would mean a completely new GL, wouldn’t it?

edit: tok was faster and way more elaborate…

(tokamak) #9

The idea of a multipurpose grenade launcher with all kinds of gadget is a brilliant idea though. The special grenades could be bought with perk slots. Maybe an idea for future projects.

(xTriXxy) #10

and what about monkey preorder pack?

(madoule) #11

i will buy it right away!

light class: merkats
medium: chimps
heavy: gorilla

melee attacks: “banana strike”

(nincek) #12

Well, as much as I know from self-experience, this gun would be very suitable for this game. I used it, handled it and the way it feels in real life just fits with this game. I just wish this game had gore. Maybe some people find it disturbing, but it’s very realistic. I wouldn’t mind at all actually, due to the fact I’ve seen enough gore on the battlefields.

(madoule) #13

so would the BFG! both would RUIN the game…

as for the latter part of your post seriously don’t even start that here. that’s something to discuss with professional…

(light_sh4v0r) #14

The way a gun handles in real life is of no relevance. Splash Damage are making a game and they’re making it so it’s fun, not so that it’s as close to RL as possible.

(nincek) #15

Isn’t it logical to you that the game would be more fun if it was realistic? People can experience the fight at least with a little trace of realism. Although this is my opinion. Who am I anyway? A random person on the forum. My opinion is futile unless a fair quantity of people accept it as their own.

(DepressedOptimist) #16

To make you feel better. The game will be more realistic than most in the way that you won’t get caught up on furniture.

Sidenote: I remember a certain modern shooter where people bled out poofs of money.

Who doesn’t?

Anyhow, thanks for the reply. I’m not really informed about this game, although I’ve been following the scene. I might get some facts wrong.

Surprised nobody has thought of a Tapir preorder package. :stroggtapir:

I mean you could have a tapir mask (which would be awesome btw)

Tapir tattoos so you can express your love of tapirs.

A tapir skin for the grenade launcher with grenades shaped like tapirs.

I mean who wouldn’t want to dress up like the coolest animal ever?

:stroggtapir: :stroggtapir: :stroggtapir:

(SockDog) #19

I think it’s partly suggested in the collectors edition thread. At least a full on Tapir set of clothes from head to hoof. But any mask would have to have a realistic physics snout/trunk (?) and appropriate Tapir war cry.

It’s only realistic afterall, there be tapirs in the world so they should be in this game!

That said I’m sure there will be plenty of SD easter eggs in the game.

(Xerxes52) #20

Sounds Orky (especially the big, bloody gob on Number 3).

Instead of a grenade launcher, you should get a Power Klaw.
