[Suggestion] API for checking player stats?

(SamillWong) #1

With competitive/ranked mode rolling out soon, can Dirty Bomb have some sort of an API that allows websites or applications to have players check and track their in-game statistics? (Weapon accuracy, time spent playing, kill/death ratios, etc.)

Most of the other games out there (not just FPS games) support this sort of statistic tracking, and I’m sure it would create a more competitive atmosphere for the player base interested in keeping track of their skill improvements.

well we should have one when we got out of beta

in the meantime, lets focus on the effort for the RANKED match first

Effort to improve netcode will impact gameplay much better as it will facilitate better cheat detection without compromising the game in play.

the importance of that feature was discussed even pre-alpha, I’d say it’s very likely, but not before release.

Smooth actually dropped some stats about accuracy in the community Discord yesterday, so I asked him about accessing stats and individual player numbers.

His response:

I’d love to have this exposed in an api so you guys could make a website for it

will get there one day

I dearly hope this comes to pass. I love numbers.

Would be cool if you could have your stats broken down into a “Last 30 days” and “Life Time” to see how you are improving over a shorter time period as after having about 1000 hours in a game you might not make any real dent into stats like Accuracy (Life Time) in the course of a week.

Oh the amount of stuff I could do with an SDK or even an API. Please SD, lemme have at it!
