I suggest as an added incentive to body types, as I see few choosing anything other then light, to add one magazine per body size. In doing this, the heavy would have +2 magazines.
From the general consensus, many people choose light because of the agility and the fact they believe they will die quickly anyway. I think it would balance the body types a bit more then where it is at now.
SD put so much trouble in making sure the heavy wasn’t overpowered(due to fanbase reactions) that they didn’t even notice they were making it underpowered…
takes 2(speaking about smg here) bullets more than a medium to kill, it’s weapons have a ridiculous spread, the damage per bullet is near non-existent, it can’t get in cover, it takes forever to get to the action
and i haven’t had one close range situation of a human heavy against a human light, where the heavy walked away victorious.
my question would now be… … i was going to ask why do people still use heavies, but now i think about it, i haven’t seen one the last few days…
Due to my char being deleted by a bug, I started over and forced myself playing a bit of heavy, despite previous attempt ending horribly.
Well, there IS actually a gun somewhat worth it for heavies, I don’t know the name, but it’s basically ETQW GPMG. Mix it with Carb-9, in a medium skilled pub, you can do … things …
The big bonus is ammo per mag, you can walk in and shoot forever, that can have its use in some situation. Not having to bother about recharging is refreshing (and drum mag pales in comparison).
I think overall speed of all body types could be increased, so that heavy is not a static aim to shoot, as well as increase damage for heavy weapons, rightnow I can easily rush as light with carb at heavy with chaingun/LMG and win unless its a narrow hallway
According to my damage sheet. The heavy weapons have less DPS than most other medium and light guns.
They are also a lot more unstable too, so you can’t really take advantage of spamming the larger clip.
Maybe the heavy needs more stability with these guns? If the light were to be carrying a 50 cal machine gun, I’m sure he’ll be all over the place, but the heavy should be more stable.
From Wiki, GPMG (ie, Maximus in Brink) DPS is 300, Carb-9 DPS is 348. there’s 60 health base difference between lightie and heavy. And being a bit like QW GMPG, Maximus recoil is essentially vertical if I’m not mistaken, making it somewhat controllable. I say, the heavy stands a chance
Ofc, once you raise both skill levels enough, the light will get far more headshot than the heavy.
Like I said, Heavy can be fun for your average pub games
And another precise damage sheet, but I don’t have the URL atm[/QUOTE]
That info’s identical to the Den Kirson data (probably the other link - I don’t have it either, but I’ve seen it a few places)…
That same source has stated that certain attachments, according to the data, do nothing, even though people have provided screenshots and videos which prove otherwise, as well as anecdotal evidence.
Apparently the method used to retrieve the stats doesn’t actually show EVERY variable that’s applied to the weapons, which is a shame. Also a shame is that people blindly believe that the number they can retrieve are accurate and complete when testing would prove otherwise.
