[Suggestion] Alleviate some of the RNG

(phenomenalJacket) #1

Allow us to buy cases in increasing cost (ingame currency only) for specific characters or roles. Say buy a case for medics, or snipers. Having the option of a much cheaper, but riskier roll, or a more expensive, and refined roll, would make it so some of the gripes about the RNG would be alleviated.

When you allow the player to control the RNG in small ways, it makes us feel a lot better.

I like this idea of buying a 1000ish credit case for a specific merc.

I can see how a new player would be confused and upset about RNG in a game when the default case gives them cards for mercs they don’t own.

But if they spend 1000ish credits for a RNG chance for a character they DO own… maybe that could help? At some point, it becomes useless though. 3 leads on characters you don’t own and you can trade up to an iron easily for 500 credits.

I’m all for adding more and more ways to spend credits and spend cash. Specific cases (maybe even a starter case that RNGs only aura and skyhammer?)

You can buy the exact card you want for 17k credits. Or you can do the CCG thing and have RNG play a role in what you get. It’s kind of a non-issue now after the last update.

When I’m grinding for a merc, I use to only do bronze trade-ups from irons I received from crates. Those are quite regular in crates (I usually get 1 or 2 for a two hours session) and trading leads to iron is somehow not cheap at the end if you’re looking for bronze cards. From there you get the maximum number of augments for a low cost. If you’re not too demanding and look for a specific main weapon, you have more or less 1/3 chances to get it (3 main weapons per merc with 3 different loadouts for each). So, if you have enough iron cards, you should get a loadout with the expected main weapon for an average of 3000 credits. That’s rather cheap compared to the 17500 for a specific loadout in the store. Following my method, I managed to get two specific loadouts for 5000/6000 credits each time.

Hmmm, maybe I should trade up these three useless lead Rhino cards for an Iron card… Aaaaand now I have an Iron Rhino card. :s

??

you know you can pick which merc you are trading up into, right?

(Amerika) #7

Uhh, what? When you trade up you get to pick which merc you get the card for. So either you somehow managed to completely miss that or you’re trolling.

(sqpantz) #8

Doh! You’re right. I guess I have had such terrible luck trading up and am so soured on the idea that I’m envisioning it even more terrible than it actually is!

No. Literally you can pick what Merc you can trade ANY card into, not the specific cards you have into a random better XD
