Subtitles?

I am aware that Brink does not come out until Spring. But I am afraid that there are no dev diary videos of Brink that have subtitles, which I completely had no idea how SMART works until I read the official article of how SMART works. That’s kinda annoying because I am deaf, so I cannot hear well.

Is there a subtitle in the full version of Brink? In one of the videos, I noticed that there is an account voice type in the game, can it be used as a closed-caption?

My request for Splash Damage developers, do you think you can provide subtitles in any videos(dev diary) that you make? Please do so :]

PS I know a lot of games have subtitles, but I just want to make sure.

In the thread for the latest dev diary, someone linked to the Bethesda youtube channel version and I believe that has CC subtitles in place, it’s possible the other dev diaries on youtube also have them. Obviously I can’t answer about the game itself :slight_smile:

I’m pretty sure there are subtitles because like you said - most games have them, would make no sense to not include them.

And even in their previous games there are subtitles for the quick-voice-chat thingy. Not sure about tutorials though - Quake Wars had little voice clips and subtitles for it too when you first joinedd the game. Campaign might have instructions though.

I’d say you don’t have anything to worry about.

Darkangel - I may be picky, but I like to watch HD videos with subtitles because it looks amazingly awesome! Do you think you can post links here?

Kunstn - That’s a good news; you better be right! I do not mind if there is no subtitle in online multiplayer, because I do not pay attention to the quick-voice-chat thingy. If the account voice type is used in multiplayer only, I do not have anything to worry about.
