The devs are moving over to a more playing focused credit earn-rate. Therefore the following changes are going to be put in place with the next update:
- The default earn-rate of 12 credits per minute is being increased to 19 per minute.
- The current mission system is going to be replaced with contracts.
- Contracts will be quite substantially tougher to complete. They will reset every 24 hours and reward you with different Credit amounts depending on their difficulty. You are given a small bonus on top of that if you accomplish all of them. Also, merc specific missions are being removed and replaced with overall earn x amount of xp in the respective categories (support, combat and game mode).
- With the introduction of contracts tokens are added alongside them. Tokens grant you the ability to recycle contracts. Tokens are provided you every 24 hours. You don’t have to log-in to obtain them and they are stackable to a capped amount.
- Credit boosters are changing from earning you 100% more credits to 50%. Furthermore they will start ticking down the moment you enable them as opposed to the previous game time only. To compensate for this, their duration is increased drastically.
1.0, the next update and partnerships:
- The 1.0 release is going live with the EV’s current state; there won’t be any changes to it until then.
- The next update is coming this week! The devs are aiming for tuesday, although remember this date could change if some serious bugs get in their way and they have to delay its release.
- The improved tutorial will be going live with the next update, but will be A/B tested to see which tutorial performs better. This means (at random) 50% of players will have access to it and 50% won’t.
- During the last stream shoe. was wearing a ESL shirt. He claimed that it’s “nothing” and that he doesn’t attempt to tease us with that. This time around he was wearing a epic.lan shirt.
Other:
- An obsidian card for Bushwhacker has been officially confirmed. The devs didn’t intend to pick the best or the worst loadout card, hence why they chose the C72. It’s the middle popularity card of the most used weapon.
- Although there is no date for the next crafting week there is an event in the pipeline.
- At this point of time there are no plans to alter the crafting system.
- Nothing has been confirmed officially but Founders cards will more than likely not be tradeable.
- The tapir weapon skins that so far have only been handed to previous PTS users are meant to act as a community reward, hence why they won’t be purchaseable. The devs are thinking about releasing variations of it for different kind of purposes, for content creators for example.
- The devs are looking at doing something with Humble Bundle again.
- shoe. has been working at SD for soon to be three and a half years.
- SD has no intention to show up at E3 with DB.
- shoe. admires the idea of adding an octopus trinket.
- There won’t be old, pre-redux maps available for rentable servers.
- shoe. has seen the new Skyhammer obsidian. He’s quite fond of it and thinks that some inspiration has been taken from Enemy Territory: Quake Wars.
- shoe. is in the credits for gears of war ultimate edition and gears of war 4.
