Strafe movement speed (It's a bit high)

Hey so I played the Alpha way back and thought the game was going to do really well and so far there’s been a lot of polish, but one thing seems to be off and it’s with the movement overall in combination with the small maps which is what brings up the whole “shotguns are OP” threads. Since it’s so easy to close the gap between an enemy and is potentially one shot kill it’s probably not the best idea to give a shotgun to Sonic. It’s mostly the strafing back and forth instantaneously that is most of the problem, it’s like trying to catch the Road Runner except he’s got a shotgun and a healing pad, sure you may have an assault rifle but you need about +15 shots on them and they need one shot on you so there you go. It’d be nice to try the game with less erratic movement during this beta, not even ET was this extreme, but they also had much more open maps which could also be a part of the issue. Anyhow if more people mentioned this as an issue maybe things will change.

Also the wall jumping mechanic is hardly useful, if I recall in the Alpha you could do a bit more with it. I remember escaping out of all the maps with it, fun times.

I haven’t had a problem with this new build of DB. Shotguns were nerfed and people who strafe tend to do it predictably and you simply fire head height tracking back and forth and they will run into it. That’s when jumping works out best for them but that’s when you too use jumping.

Maps definitely could use more skill jump areas.

The more I play the more it comes down to the narrowness of the maps being a problem, it feels cramped. Not sure what they were thinking during the design phase, it would’ve helped if they studied popular ET maps.

And yes definitely more skill jump spots are needed, and they need a small boost as well I usually have to jump twice on a wall to get any real height.

Pro tip- keep your distance with shotties unless you have a shottie yourself and skilled enough to have good reflexes and aim
