how long is it going to take the beat the game?

Using the Ark map i believe there are around 15 maps, With roughly 15~20 min. each map, That equals to around 5 hours for each faction. This is just speculation though.

If you’re looking to load up the game and run to the end then I think you’ll be missing a HUGE amount of what makes up this game.

The premise is to enjoy the interaction of human vs human play within the story of the game. As such the game can go on for hundreds of hours as the experience is largely defined by those you play with rather than the arena you play in.

Think of something like chess. The board is always the same, as is the rules, but the players define the experience and depth.

Given SD’s previous games I’m sure the game will be very much balanced and designed for long term playability.

well im not just going to try and beat the game quick, im also going to get the trophy’s too…I just dont want the game to be short…but yae im really looking forward to see the game more, its something different and im happy its something different unlike other fps

i think i read about devs saying about 10+ hours of gameplay going through the story once, and another 10+ for the other side of the story.
could be 5+ for each, making up 10+ total though

If you played quake wars all maps once, you would have played 6 hours max. I think, if you like the game, you’ll keep playing the same maps over and over again. So oyu decide yourself how long it takes, especially if you make 16 characters with each their own specialisation. I certainly would.

No matter how much SD want this game to have an enjoyable singleplayer experience, it will always be a multiplayer game. This means that the maps are made to be replayable, and as such singleplayer content will be restricted to a relatively low amount of maps compared to ‘real’ SP shooters. The fun is online though, that’s where you’ll want to be.

well, I hope this game turns out to be great, because it be nice to see them making brink 2 in the future…I really like how they did the graphic, and I believe the gameplay going to be pretty darn fun too… and trust me i’m for sure going to be playing online… Is their a release day? i know its sometime next year but like what month?

“When it’s done” although that seems to have fallen out of favour these days. I hope for Spring but if it gets shifted again so be it. Many times delays spell out actual problems with development (see Wolfenstein), in SD’s case however they’re proven to just want to release the best possible game even if that means baking it a bit longer.

I’m not even considering Brink a single player game. As much as it’s hyped I don’t expect the AI to come anywhere close to the online experience. I do however value the single player component as it allows me to explore and learn the maps without the pressure of performing that multiplayer brings (I’m so annoyed that Valve doesn’t do this for versus in L4D). So I’ll be sure to play through single player a couple of times at least, probably before I even go online.

Most likely i be doing the same, playing single player first. just to get a good feel on the controller and understand how their new system work that they call s.m.a.r.t i believe

If you heard Q1 2011 that’s the best answer you get. All sites that you can pre-order from have a place holder date, then when the official date is announced they will change it.

Let Chuck Norris play it! Let’s see how long it takes him to beat it.!
