stopwatch dead?

since the last patch i havent found a single stopwatch game. is there some problem? i personally find it my fave game mode as i get to attack and defend. i much prefer attacking as defending is generally far too easy in brink.

I’m in San Francisco and I just did a search (default filters) and got 301 servers, which is odd as I usually only get around 130.

Here’s the breakdown:

139 Objective
114 Stopwatch
44 Campaign
4 Challenge

I was having a problem seeing servers when I first built my new computer a week ago then one morning servers started showing up and I hadn’t changed anything on my computer.

Almost…
There are Servers, but i only see one with players at peak times and even then not always :frowning:

I think that will change, once the DLC hits. (at least for a while)

i couldnt find one again last night. i would have thought this would be the core game mode.

It’s in a similar state on the 360 console. I thought more people would be playing this mode as well. Since you have the opportunity to attack and defend on each map.

Right now Stopwatch doesn’t tell you who won in or have a break down in the Match and Round scores so it is just feels unfinished. I am hoping that some of the PC changes to Stopwatch make it to Xbox.

Here is a idea I have for a variant of Stopwatch that could be more aggressive. It is called [thread=29936]Deadpool[/thread]

Maybe the game is dead and noone plays it anymore?

On xbox it has been an overlooked mode. It is somewhat buried in the menu. Also, the match is very long and doesn’t have a breakdown of the winning time or progress. It seems incomplete. Or something.

There are probably a couple reasons, one, you don’t seem to get any results at the end. Two, this might just be me not knowing what to do but the few times I joined a stopwatch server i would have to wait around for the match to end before being able to play, which means no thanks I’ll just go to server where I can play as soon as I join and not 15 minutes later.

(Smoochy) #11

its always seemed ok on pc. it was what i played mostly before the patch 2 weeks ago. i like it as i get to attack and defend alternately. some times i end up just defending 3 games in a row and i hardly ever lose when defending unless my team sucks.

also the longer time helps you attack a bit more. plus they made it harder for defenders in stopwatch so it should be more balanced.

(taodemon) #12

I liked the idea of swapping sides so each team would play both offense and defense but like I said, what killed it for me was having to wait for the match to be over before being able to join in.

(Smoochy) #13

doesnt always happen. most of the time i join a stopwatch im straight in. sometimes im not. very odd. i wonder if its some limits? maybe even teams etc

The new stopwatch changes really help the mode. We were playing more stopwatch after the patch. And SD eliminated the Advanced freeplay mode to lessen the dividing of the player pool, so hopefully more stopwatch will be played now.

Stopwatch seems to be a matter of who starts a server.

I filled the copiae server from JaMMiN (greetings!) within 30 minutes at noon and its still up. Same with FF or Tint, if you want it, fill a the corresponding server yourself.

BTW:
Anyone know the admins of those cyan written BRINK NL servers? Their still dont have REFUEL in their mapcycle… Really sad cause its the nicest map to me and the server is the most played, at least always full.
