Stop the negativity...

(jtcolumbus) #1

I want to start by saying that the reason I am posting this is because of all the negativity on this forum. By no mrans is Brink a perfect game. There are still lag issues, glitches, and annoying bots, but this is the case with almost every game with a multiplayer version. Just look at BFBC2, it was a unplayable on 360 because of lag for the longest time (and DICE spent much more money in development than SD). AI in Killzone 2 and 3 is just as bad as Brink, and COD (all versions) has more glitches than you can count. All these games are large franchises that have had the same issues as Brink, but get a pass because of their name. SD has already made great strides in addressing many of the issues that hurt Brink at launch and I have faith that they will continue to support the game.

Now here is what I think makes Brink a great game that stands appart from all theother FPS’s out there:

  • great chracter customization- i like to give my chracter its own unique look.
  • movement- i played a couple of rounds of BFBC2 last night and really missed the ease of movement in Brink. It is stupid to get stuck walking over a 4 inch curb in other games.
  • the unique classes- other games have multiple classes but they all play the same so there is rarely a reason to modify your gameplay. Brink does a great job of making each class unique and fun
  • balance- it is awsome to not get your but handed to. you every game just because the guy you are playing against is 4 levels higher than you. SD did a great job making it feel like a balanced game in both weapons and maps (with a couple of exceptions)

Thank you SD for providing a unique multiplayer FPS and I look forward to the DLC out later this month.
If you are looking for people to play with on 360, feel free to friend me (gamertag: jtcolumbus)

Other games you mentioned: Enjoyable and fun. Brink: Annoying and not fun.

Character customization can’t be seen clearly in actual gameplay. It also makes it near impossible to tell who is playing what class.

Brink movement is laggy and unsmooth.

Unique classes? Wow, you really are stupid as hell. Have you ever played a class-based shooter video game ever? Brink brings nothing new to the table. The classes are boring and lack depth.

And you think this game is balanced? Jeez, are you mentally challenged?

Gotta agree with you on the positive things that make it stand appart from the crappy console shooters and the CoDs. My fav game used to be BC2 on PC since it came out but now Brink is getting close to be even better. They just need to fix some more things to unlease its full potential as seen in the threads in my signature.

The success of Brink will depend on the “following” of Splash Damage with their game. If they’ll keep making it better and listen to the community unlike they’ve done with ETQW which is why it died even if it was the best game ever.

Wow, you are a complete a**! My liking a game that you do not does not make me stupid or mentally challenged. However, your personal attacks say alot about your maturity level. I can only assume you are 12 years old. Although come to think of it, my 12 year old son can string together a more thought out response than that verbal vomit you posted.

Please don’t take the flame-bait guys. Let the mods deal with it. Thanks.

It is great to see some positive thoughts for the game. I have faith that SD is going to continue to make improvements in gameplay. Also, I read your post of ideas for updates, very well thought out.

Duely chastised. :frowning:

No, I’m pretty sure Brink is enjoyable and fun. COD is the series that’s annoying and not fun. No need to thank me for clearing that up

From being as good as lied too for the last year by SD as what state the game was in too the nightmare of a launch and beyond I just can’t see where anyone would have any faith, it just amazes me, it really does!!!???

Brink was a failure, I just hope SD can learn from their lessons, GET SOME FOCUS and make Brink 2 the game Brink should have been (or at least release a finished product).

Brink does not need faith guys, it need a miracle. Bethesda will stop funding patches soon.
