Stokers molotov is too strong

Kiras’ laser is also aerial denial.

But it’s focused and meant to kill players. People running away is a side effect.
What I mean by area denial is sticking it on a planted bomb to prevent a defuse or to block of a doorway. In certain situations this is a better use of the laser than going for kills.
Easier done with a molotov.
Actually once it’s set, there is nothing the enemy team can do about it. Molotov you can extinguish it pretty easy, you can also set a smoke grenade on the objective making the objective fireproof for the duration of the smoke. Laser has no such counter.
Not when the majority of pub players don’t even know that explosives and smoke extinguish flames. As for the laser, denial with is really only viable on Terminal 1st stage and Underground 2nd stage. All other objectives are either indoors or can be avoided.

I’ve had a few Molotov’s [rarely] backfire hilariously. A Proxy was running at me, I threw the 'tov at her, hit her in the head, and despite the impact point being too far from me to move the fire circle to my location, her body moving at me shoved it forward until it hit the ground, resulting in me toasting myself and her escaping with some damage.

Direct hits at the feet can be instant kills basically, but headshots no way. The impact does next to nothing, which is fine, but can result in funny stuff.

The grenade is def a little OP overall, however. I play Stoker for his amazing weapons, free kill grenade, good health, roadblock skill (er, ammo). Feels much better than nerfed to shit Phantom with your KEK and shield which doesn’t work if you try to kill anyone.

You should be able to deny 2nd/3rd stage Dome and 1st stage Trainyard (which is rather common, potentially the C4 on the wall passages on 1st and 2nd stage) for C4. There are a number of routes you can block that would force the enemy to wait or use a longer alternative route just like the Movotov can. Underground is big plus for Molotov but Trainyard is a big plus for laser.

Even if the majority of pub players don’t extinguish, the option is always there for the smarter ones. I feel that Vaseline is the more go to sniper for newer players because he’s dirt cheap.

Nah, the timer being 40 seconds makes up for it’s damage imo. He seems like a really well balanced merc to me. I just wish he had 110 health and was a bit quicker to give some variety to the male fire supports.

Underground 2nd? Not really.
Depends where you plant, but it is possible to call in from top of the elevator.
You can also call one in on the first stage of underground if you plant middle.

We can’t deny it : Kira indeed has no counter to her area denial potential once it’s set up, though her AoE is much tighter. However she takes a lot of time to pull off the Laser. Also, does gibbing Kira actually cancels the Orbital Strike ? If not, changing that could be a nice change.

Nope.

Like the Molotov, once it’s set it remains on the field until the laser expires. If it was in mid transit when she died it continues to go to the destination until it reaches it or it expires. If the laser doesn’t charge up then no laser. It takes more effort to change the direction of the laser, leaving Kira vulnerable then toss and forget abilities like Airstrike and Molotov so having it just vanish would weaken her a bit and I don’t believe that is necessary. Unless of course Turtle’s shield somehow bounced the laser off it making it go horizontal instead of vertical.

This should be a thing.
