so i finally farmed enough credits to get stoker… any tips on playing as stoker?
stoker tips?
Can’t give all of em tips but here are couple.
Ammo station: it’s quite handy to keep it mobile and not leaving in one spot too long, since it starts distributing ammo right away when placed unlike healing station. Also functions as a make-shift door blocker in cases of changing marching direction 180 degrees (a.k.a running away but umh…first one sounds more reassuring) or denying that pesky Rhino from entering your room, for a short while at least.
Molotov: direct hits are your best buddy and quite guaranteed kill to everyone below Fragger’s hp but not necessarily needed. Spreads like plague anyways, great tool to disorient enemies and flush them out into direction you want and can finish them off with your beastly primaries. Don’t be shy using it as a door block or flush-tool for “just” 1-2 enemies, I’ve seen too many Stokers waiting for the “perfect moment” of half of the team getting around one spot and then using the Molo. Obviously those are great to wait for, but the cooldown is not that bad despite it being rather long.
As EV destroyer I’ve noticed it working the best when thrown just about when EV is about to be repaired, hitting the turret tower so it engulfs whole EV’s surroundings. It not only often kills the engi repairing it, but starts the damaging right off the bat and makes it harder to push forward, leaving your teams other EV damagers better chance of getting it down in time.
Depending on the map, 2-3 Molotovs are enough to destroy secondary generators. Slow, but reliable, it’s hard to remove the flames with explosions perfectly since in my opinion what I’ve gathered even tiniest blob of campfire is enough to keep damaging them.
Enemies in spot like roof etc. where you cannot directly land your trusty inferno-in-a-bottle? Worry not, since they explode in mid-air too. You just need to learn the fly-time they have and arc needed, once learned you can rain the white phosphorus down on your enemies from above. It often catches station huggers much more off-guard too.
