Stoker - Gas Mask

(Sparky) #1

I was Stoker and running through the gas tunnel on Terminal when it just got deactivated and I died to the gas. After a moment to reflect on this, wouldn’t it be a nifty little passive ability if Stoker could run through the gas? He is wearing a gas mask after all. It could be a cool way to infiltrate certain areas and get a good molotov in. Doesn’t seem OP.

Well, now we know what merc people would be playing on Underground.

(darlingClaymore) #3

It would, so would go for phoenix/ any merc that has a type of covering.

Appearance doesn’t always translate to functionality.

Phoenix don’t have a hermetic mask that keeps gas out.
And Stoker has a bullethole in the left Oxygen tank.

Stoker probably just likes wearing fake gas masks from dollar stores.

There is some Gameplay and Story Integration here: Look closely at Stokers gas mask, Besides having a bullet hole, it’s also pretty cracked and broken.

My other guess is that, because it’s likely just a mask for smoke inhalation, rather than having a complete CBRN, completely sealed suit.

Pretty sure the reason why Stoker is wearing a broken gas mask is because he got disfigured by white phophorous gas or fire.

Just, look at his bio :

Each trade has their longstanding professional dilemmas. Every Fire Support officer wonders if one day, sooner or later, they’ll have to call in an airstrike on their own position to save the rest of their unit. Not a decision to be taken lightly, and particularly not with White Phosphorus. It was, apparently, a decision Stoker was happy to make. When he talks about what incendiary explosives can do, listen to him. He knows what he’s talking about. Quite what such a formerly senior officer is doing working as a humble frontline mercenary is anyone’s guess.

After all, who would know better what incendiary explosives can do but the guy who tasted it right in the face ?

I didn’t. Do you have a link about this ?

Yeah, I never saw it before…I wouldn’t mind seeing.
