([F1]r3v) #1

My clanmate told me to post here. The problem is we are trying to get in touch with the developers of RTCW, but no one has really responded other than telling us to talk to another developer. Does anyone know of a program or a way to decompile a .bsp file back to the .map extension, in order to edit it??

thanks

q3map2 will do it. Check out the convert option.

Be nice, don’t steal other peoples work. :moo:

I have the exact same question. Can I have the directions to de-compilation of .bsp files? Thanx! :drink:

I tried it and all it gave me was an error about the bsp being version 47, and wanting good old 46.

Much slapping of the head due to the realisation of my stupidity, forgot the -game wolf.
So yes, q3map2 -game wolf -convert -format map “namofmap”
No problemmo.

i would love to thank everyone at this point for all their help, ive finished editing mp_village by gathering ideas from the community (i will include a readme in which i will take no credit for the map, being that I decompiled it and did not create it, just modified it) but i have run into 2 errors while trying to get it to load into wolf. 1 using q3map2 decompiler in which i get the error max_map_capacitiy exceeded, and it closes the compiling process, second if i dont do the -vis it will compile BUT, i get the error sv_setbrush = null . I have done a little reading on this and it says that some brushes have been set to a size too small for wolf, is there anyway to do a FIND or steps i can take to LOCATE these brushes… any help is greatly appreciated.

Decompiling makes a lot of invalid brushes. bobtoolz brush cleanup should help clear most of those. It’s a plugin in gtkrad 1.4.

thanks for the feedback, ive actually used the brush cleanup till all the brushes are clean (or so it says)… anymore ideas?
