Still not enough credit earning

(Calynth) #1

I’m gonna really bluntly go into this and say, even with the patch, we aren’t getting enough credits per match. Post-patch, I average 100 credits per match. Still not enough. With it being 30000 to unlock (most) mercs it means 300 matches per merc (not including daily rewards). 300! that is way to many. Stop being stingy! A reasonable amount would be around 500 credits per match, bringing the amount of matches down to 60, still a big(ish) number, but much more reasonable than 300. With the daily missions, ~500 credits per match would be pretty much perfect!

Thanks for reading my wall of text, Cal

credit rate hasn’t changed post patch. so bug persists i assume.

edit: also playing server browser objective mode, haven’t tried stopwatch.

(Flylow) #3

I just got 346 sooooo, I personally love the new credit rate.

I also don’t get how people can discard the daily awards from these discussions.

  • they are not daily (you tend to get a new one as soon as an old mission is complete)
  • some of them require no effort (put aura in your squad - never use aura and go with whatever else)
  • they are worth 1h of gametime (assuming the average 100$/game which is what most people quote)

There was a slight issue with how the update was applied, so the bug persisted a little longer than expected. That’s now fixed and it should be giving you around 30% more.

Szakalot, they most definitely are daily. However if you do not complete a previous days quest until the next day, it will be filled.

If you have completed all objectives there is currently a bug that let’s you see a random players mission board after a game is over, if they complete one of their objectives at that time, you will get the bonus as well.

Complete the three daily objectives every day and it will still take you 16 days to unlock a new merc.

Once you have completed all the daily objectives there is no incentive to play the game. That is bad. I want to be able to play the game at any time and feel like I have accomplished something. The current system feels like a tedious iphone game. Log in daily, complete some simple objectives and then come back later.

I would have bought the merc pack because I like the game enough and I think it would be worth it. But I haven’t, because I don’t want to when it feels like the game is forcing me to do so to progress.

Defending poor F2P practices is daft. Even more so when the developers themselves have admitted to there being a problem.

Don’t forget that the merc unlocking system is very similar to League of Legend where, if you do your 3 win bonus every day, it still requires around a week / 10 days to unlock a moderately priced character. Here, if you do your 3 daily objectives, and do around 10 games at 150 points, you generate around 3000 points per day which allow you to pay for a new merc every 10 days. Too much trading up and crates buying is your enemy right now. I’m pretty fine with the system as it is.

And the crates/loadouts are crucial for the gamplay. Thats the difference between DB and LoL.

(Szakalot) #9

thx for clearing that up. still better than many F2P practices out there.

Complete the three daily objectives every day and it will still take you 16 days to unlock a new merc.

come on, get the math right! 3 missions at 600 each = 1.8k. 16 days => 28.8k; you telling me you only get 1.2k credits from non-mission awards after 16 days of playing? Whenever people bring numbers to complain they either talk missions alone, or credit awards alone. lul.

I’d expect average 10min length game to get me 150 credits, to complete all missions you’d have to play 4-6 games, thats another 750-1k a day. So you get on average 2.5k per day.

12 days for a new merc?

Sure, its on the low side; but nowhere near the ‘omgomg p2w endless grind whine’ I see around here. Personally, I’d like to see it around 1week per new merc.

I have heard rumors of other methods to acquire credits to come into the game. Plus, the missions will surely be balanced to make them easier to complete - 14k support xp anyone?

Once you have completed all the daily objectives there is no incentive to play the game. That is bad. I want to be able to play the game at any time and feel like I have accomplished something. Maybe its a generation thing, but I play games for fun, not to get some virtual medals and a digital pat on the back. Previous builds mercs were all available from the start, and no one whined about having ‘no incentive to play the game’. But as soon as you put these unlockables & missions into DB, everyone starts complaining about how pointless it became.

Defending poor F2P practices is daft. Even more so when the developers themselves have admitted to there being a problem.

Bad math is daft too

I agree that as is, the rewards are lackluster, but I expect it to be fixed in coming patches. Just cut the whine already : P

I’d say no. Definitely not. Augments are barely noticeable. Except Springy and Cooldown reduction on medic/support, nothing is valuable. It’s pretty easy to get the main weapons you want. So, imo, crates are not worth buying them if you have to choose between them and progression to a merc unlock.

(insaneCylinder) #11

@Szakalot I didn’t include mission rewards, it would be 16.6 (so I guess 17) days using only mission rewards. I actually came to the same conclusion, 12 days, in a previous post >>

But you need to keep in mind that you can’t buy ANYTHING else if you want to keep this deadline. No upgrades no crates. You also need to play on average maybe 2.5 hours a day to complete the missions ( I am currently stuck on the 14k support xp, it’s impossible and I exclusively play sawbonez!! )

About the fun thing. Maybe I want to play vassili, maybe I will find that fun. Well, because I’ve got no credits to unlock him after I have already purchased sawbonez, I can’t have that “fun”.

In a regular game, i’d pay $60 and there wouldn’t be any limitations. Maybe I can’t unlock that COD perk until I reach level 40, but I would be guaranteed it when I got there and there was no way to circumvent it by paying more money. (Well now it probably is, but it didn’t use to be)

PS. Sorry for indirectly calling you daft, I couldn’t find a better word, eh…

PSS. I’m not whining, had I been inclined to whine I would have written something stupid, never come back to defend what I said and stopped playing the game :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s not even on the low side. The price of the game is already incredibly fair, with 20 bucks to unlock all the current content, or the approximate price of a pizza to buy a specific merc you want. If you can’t or don’t want to pay this for a AAA competitive shooter (why the hell not?) then two weeks to unlock a single character (of which there aren’t THAT many in the game and most likely won’t ever be) is almost laughably generous, especially considering that the game is designed to be played heavily for a long time and all the mercs are perfectly playable anyway.

This isn’t some random cow clicker to play during your lunch break so you’d have to feel bad for spending on it, this is a quality game which just happens to use a F2P based pricing model. As long as it does not encourage you to spend ridiculous amounts (which most F2P games do, but DB doesn’t), I really don’t see why anybody is complaining.

(farsightedLemur) #13

i played now some games and earned 250 for first round and 800 for all winning match .

(Runeforce) #14

Duuude, I want to come live, where you live, because around here you can only get a slice for that price.
But I agree with you.

The new patch is better in Objective mode. I always want more credits, faster!
I have not checked rates in Stopwatch out after today’s patch change, but it was/is waaaay to slow compared to Objective.

(DadoPeja) #15

well, around 12exp i got ~400 credits … once on stopwatch
