Sticky Bomb Explodes After Death - Respawn Damage

This happened to me twice last night.

An operative threw a sticky bomb onto me, I died from gunfire, and the redeployment counter happened to spit me back out into the game as the sticky bomb was meant to explode on my corpse.

I heard the explosion, the screen had the damage splash redness, and I respawned with almost no health left. The extra health pip from one of my perks is what saved me.

The first time this happened I had remained in the ‘down’ view of my body, the second time I had been snuffed out, unable to be revived, and was waiting in the spectate-teammembers view until respawn.

The second one didn’t do as much damage on my respawn, but I still started with the need to reheal and the obvious loss of the bonus health pips I had at the point in the battle (command post upgrade).

Theres a couple of things like this happening after death in the new life. Cant reproduce it, but I noticed on many occasions getting damage at the spawn. I dont care much usually because im a medic selfbuffin anyways, but I see the point for other classes.

Ok I think I can reproduce it now.

It happens if I use the “late spawn”. You know when the spawn timer tick goes on 0 and you still wait… and wait another second and then decide to respawn and still catch the spawnwave.

If I catch damage during this overtime and then tap out I still receive damage on the newly spawn char. I guess its about the damage calculation on the server.
Server counts damage for my old ID, while I am on my client already on the new ID.

This was really annoying today when I found a heavy grenade lying beside my incapacitated char and tapped out. In the spawn I had about 10HP left on the newly spawned char. I didnt play medic there and it cost me 75HP (BH, enh CP) even after refilling.

Would have been even funnier on action mapparts close to spawn like refuel delivery or CC 1st bot stage where teams get intercepted right at the spawn exit.
