Stereo Sound Problem

(Kurushi) #1

Sorry if this has been posted, my stereo sound is working fine but certain sounds are the opposite to where they should be coming from in the headphones. Mainly distant sounds

For example, at close range, getting shot from the left sounds from the left fine but background shots from the left will be in the right ear. The same goes bomb bleeps, command stations etc, they don’t quite come from the right direction like the game thinks I have a different speaker setup.

I’ve checked my sound drivers- they’re set to headphones, the game is set to two speakers, it’s quite weird. I’m on a Audigy 2 ZS.

A push in the right direction would be appreciated, I guess it’s something simple enough, TIA

Yes i notice this bug too, sometimes i notice the comander voivce goes mono somehow, while im hearing music in stereo so its not my pc, headphones etc.

And i dont think anyone made a post about this, so ye good you did it, i bet the devs dont know about this issue.

Bump - I’ve run out of ideas.

It seems like a game issue but I’d have thought more people would’ve mentioned it so…maybe it’s just us

Yes, I have heared this issue also. You can hear it even better when you are incapacitated. When somebody shoots around you the sound comes from the wrong side.

(I’m on a Creative Audigy Xfi Fatality card, latest driver is installed).

The sound engine is just ****ed up, deal with it.

Thanks but it sounds like a completely different problem.

Not exactly, you hear things from the wrong channels ,its the same like for the rest of people just with different variation(but for most its more of 5.1 sound on stereo setup).

(Kurushi) #10

That thread is for issue #2, which I don’t have

(ragnak) #11

Well for me it do sound like issue #2 but i agree that your problem is kinda strange. Fact is that in both yours and #2 issue game have problems with sending sound through correct channels which for me is the same thing with different variation.

Sorry if it didnt help you nor provide you with any useful information ;p

Having this issues ever s slightly. IT is only when running around a lot that I notice it occur a lot(changing directions rapidly for a period of time, causes audio to be played on the wrong channel).

I run 2 Speakers in game and in windows control panel on an X-Fi Fatality. All latest drivers.

Basically if I have 3 people on my right shooting and I change direction 180 degrees the audio from the bullet fire is still in my right speaker, but faint compared to if I turn back around 180 degrees it gets louder closer to normal db range.
