I put a lot of work into this, I would appreciate constructive criticism only please, don’t be a dick.
And to the devs, making these cards would be INCREDIBLY EASY. You don’t need to make anything new except a couple augments and new card skins, no new weapon or merc skins!

I like the idea and I would even (if I may) add that the skins should be default with only a little change as default skins IMO don’t get uses enough but they look awesome, I love the majority of the selections however for the Bushwhacker I would change one of the augments as the steady, lock on combo on a blishlock loadout is to make it viable and so I would change but the rest are fine IMO great idea.

(Dysfnal) #3

Thanks @Brain_of_Britain

These loadouts are supposed to be superior to the normal loadouts, and I personally think that the blish is plenty viable on its own, you just have to have very consistent aim and hit your headshots, I personally think the gun is heavily underrated, it’s the easiest to chain headshots with, and has insane dps if you do

(HunterAssassin5) #4

so basically, steel cards net you the “best” augments for each character along with their default weapon loadouts?

(Dysfnal) #5

@TheRyderShotgun Basically, some would probably be balanced, such as the Fletcher card (though I would love that card so much), because that would be overpowered, but the cards would be so rare I don’t know if this would be too much of a problem

(Dysfnal) #6

I also treated Vassili and Aimee quite differently, giving Vassili more resilience, and Aimee more mobility. They both get spotter because it’s great.

(Dysfnal) #7

Fixed the fact that Stoker only has 2 augments

(SweetGenocide) #8

Lovely stuff, i like the ideas for the augments, also i want loadouts like the 383 Companion Agent for every medic <.>

(Dysfnal) #9

@Cliff I watched your video on the new system, maybe this is the new rarity you’re looking for

It’s mostly about the idea, not the specific loadout cards, an ultra rare card, only obtainable by playing the game, and getting really lucky

(Naonna) #10

Because this game needs more randomness in terms of finding loadouts?

(Dysfnal) #11

If that’s your best counter argument I feel successful, I personally see nothing wrong with recieving a specific type of card only for playing the game via equipment cases. The point is to create an incredibly rare card, with no means of increasing your chance for said card using money. I also thought about granting a steel card after reaching say 100 or 200 hours with a merc, granting you their card

(Naonna) #12

It’s like trying to get hats in tf2 by drop: highly unlikely. Unlike hats, though, these loadouts affect game play.

(Dysfnal) #13

Somewhat

(Kirtap101) #14

an i just say, why do you bad mouth everyones posts? it is annoying as all hell, im sick of looking on here and you just insulting the ideas that people have spent time on. can you please be constructive rather than rude and disrespectful.

(fluorescentUrchin) #15

@Kirtap101 While I see why you are annoyed with @Naonna , sometimes it is useful to have an overly critical person judge your work as it allows you to see through your pride over an idea and see its flaws. Naonna is kinda like the naysmith of this forum (google it).

(Naonna) #16

I do not take offense to the above post. - If no one points out flaws, then they’re never fixed. - I’ve been known to occasionally give a thumbs up here and there for certain ideas, even if some modifications are still needed.

Edit: I googled naysmith, but only found the obituary of a pianist who got ran over in the street. - Please don’t run me over Q~Q.

(HunterAssassin5) #17

@Kirtap101 “be constructive”, you say?

comparing this to the random tf2 hat drops is not constructive?

saying this is another random element no one especially wants is not constructive?

ill tell you what’s not constructive, saying this:

“this is a stupid dumbass idea i dont know what made you think this was a good idea at all f*ck you”

THAT was not constructive. It didn’t say what was wrong or right with it, and also had unnecessary profanities mixed in directed at the poster.

(Naonna) #18

@TheRyderShotgun No need to defend me ‘-’; I’m aware that my strong opinions come across as crass at times. (Still, cheers for trying.)

The only reason I commented on THIS topic was because I noticed a problem. We want this game to avoid being pay-to-win. At the same time, giving long-time players random drops (which are just as likely overall for someone who just started to play,) means that it’s not tied to progression, either. Yes, it makes the cards rare, but not for the right reasons.

Also, the fact that these percs and cards are so unique means that you’ll hear a lot more of the game being accused of being pay to win. - We hear that already when nubies say that about cobalts, golds, and silvers: and those are just pretty versions of bronze rank cards.

(HunterAssassin5) #19

I wasn’t defending you as much as snapping at Kirtap a little and defending the way we talk about these ideas, but you’re welcome.

YOU DON’T OVERLOOK PROBLEMS BECAUSE BRIDGES CAN COLLAPSE FROM A LITTLE CRACK WHERE THERE SHOULDN’T BE ONE

“it looked nice, so i let the engineers off”

YOU DON’T

I appreciate what @Naonna does here on the suggestion page, he always has a good point in his comments, though his opinion can be strong at times. @TheRyderShotgun complements this well, his temperament being much different, though his input also being sound.

A note on the P2W as well, it’s simply not. I understand your point isn’t necessarily that it is, because at first glance it seems so, but these would only be obtainable via standard equipment cases (or by reaching 100 hours with a single merc, if I decide to add that mechanic). Naturally everyone would be able to recieve said items, but the longer you play, the more likely it is that such would occur.

I don’t want this idea in the game unless the vets are compensated for it, I would hate spending hundreds of hours in a game only to realize that those hours were played too early. This is why the 100 hour mechanic is so attractive, the vets recieve the rewards.

You know what, Fuck it. 100 hour it is. Thank you @Naonna for your input, I appreciate it.
