Every day since update at least 5k players on “prime time”, Saturday & Sunday got over 6k.
That makes me happy, since DB deserves that and even more, they put a lot of work into that update

for this amazing update + also thanks to this amazing community that is making the game better too <3
SteamDB stats after update, thank you to devs & publishers
Good stuff, this game definitely deserves more attention, there’s not many shooters like this anymore.
I hope they can keep this up. We’ve had this solid update, now we need to build on top of that. Regardless, good work.
While it was a great update, there were still some problems, and that always sucks.
The real test is not seeing how many problems SD adds in an update, because there always will be a controversial item or two.
The actual test is how fast and efficiently SD can respond to the unwanted changes, and make them loved by everyone.
Same here. As long as SD keeps up the good work, then I’ll be a happy internet penguin. Hopefully the next Fine Tuning Update fixes some of the more drastic problems.
Why are you looking at the concurrent player stats and not the unique player graph that is directly below that? The concurrent player stats means very little while the unique player stats per two weeks has significant meaning.
Scrolling down can’t be that hard!

I just don’t like people looking at stats and treating them as if they are important. Seeing 4000-6000 peak isn’t nearly as informative as seeing 180,000 or 250,000+ unique players playing the last two weeks. I am much more happy for the latter as that says exactly how many people are playing Dirty Bomb and a spike of 70,000 players is pretty damn amazing compared to a random concurrent player stats. People tend to treat the concurrent stat of being representative of DB “dying” if it goes below 5000 people for some reason despite the fact that hundreds of thousands of people are actually playing the game.
Dirty bomb is still solidly installed in steam’s top 100 since the Open Beta release. And when you look at this, there are not many true fps in there, set valve’s productions aside. I’m really far from thinking the game is dying right now. This might sound a bit arbitrary, but for a game with this kind of scale, seeing it leaving the top 100 would be a clear bad sign. What is also surprising now is that the fps genre clearly gravitates around cod, bf and more than anything else valve’s games. I’ve been looking attendance stats for more than 10 years now, and I’ve never seen the fps genre this centered on 3 brands. While they easily reach 100k+, all other smaller games struggle to reach 10k…
The almost doubled population since last patch shows that people are eager for good content and updates for this game, and will play it if it gets continuously improved. They should really think about accelerating things on proper content like maps and game modes and also bugfixing. Those are the updates people are looking for. Economy improvements and slight balance changes did not make people come back / install the game to this extent.

I agree, new maps are mandatory. There needs to be some more variance! Also maybe making mercs cheaper or something could work nicely, because at the moment it takes a LOT of grinding, even as someone who can pubstomp. o.o

If you can’t grind out a 50k credits in two weeks, you can always splurge and pay $$$ for it.
I use two weeks as this allows you to try out a merc on free rotation and then buy it after it switches.
Takes me under a week to get 50k credits, but then again im addicted and DB wont let me go. Only 4 more mercs to go (not counting unreleased) which are kira, bushwhacker, rhino (shudder) and phantom.
But I did buy the Starter Pack & Fletcher/Nader Bundle mainly to give some kind of thanks and support towards making the game bigger and better, also proxy.

I probably could, but at around 300 credits a match for the most part (not including missions) that’s around 166 pubs… That’s just a lot of grinding, and that’s not including getting a good card.
That’s possible for me, but the casual player wont want to waste so much time trying to get just one character.
I bought Phoenix with real money, because I really wanted that obsidian card, because phoenix is in my top two favourite mercs.
Except missions are still a thing even if not included in your example. Getting 50k credits really isn’t that bad, it’s not a lot to ask for to actually play for an hour or so a day in exchange for your credits. An hour a day sounds pretty casual to me.
