Steam unlock time dated (but wrong?)

Hi everybody,

the official Steam Website have set a date for unlock Brink via online authentication. So Brink will be unlocked and then playable on May 13th. At least the european version of the game, maybe everyone could check this with an “non-european” Steam Account, should be May 10th.

But something is wrong with the Unlock-Counter on Steam. If I calculate the remaining time and the actual date it will end at May 15th at 2am (GMT). Have I missunderstand something or is this counter on steam the failure?

Expecting from the Steam counter to be precise is a sure way to be disappointed. I’ve waited to play several games the second they were released, you usually can see the counter act like crazy, getting two more hours 5 minutes before the end, several times in a row, and the actual unlock can happen like 6 hours after planned.

Seems right to me…

The timer is set to May 10th @ 12am, Midnight Eastern time.

I’m in Costa Rica [ which is part of NA http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_america ] atm but I’m getting a EU release date on steam =/

It seems Steam now have a corrected date. It´s now available for preload on May 12th at 2:00pm (GMT) for european customer .

edit: LOL something goes definitely wrong on Steam. The date has changed again, its now May 13th at 1:00pm (GMT) - really confusing …

I don’t think people in the business world really give a crap about which tectonic plate your country technically resides on when they break up sales regions.

It’s a marketing designation, not a scientific classification.

It seems Steam has change the date once more. Really confusing, but good - because it´s now again May 12th on 2:00pm (CET) for all european gamers :slight_smile:
