now no matter what some reviewer says I know i will love this game, it feels like the next step on from ET and ETQW but I’m off work for 2 weeks starting today and love stuff like election nights

Metacritic will fall between 75-85. Fact: I will love this game regardless. I don’t think people should be putting up reviews until they have the time to play multiplayer proper with a full team of real players for a week or so to see the progress aside from just with bots. Just my thoughts.
Don’t get me wrong I think Brink will be amazing. The reason I predict those scores I because I can see some reviewers playing it like cod, not using smart, not going for objectives , and write it off entirely.

I predicted pretty much the same thing a couple weeks ago.

You would think that the reviews will be overwhelmingly popular considering the overwhelmingly positive PREVIEWS that have been posted since the Bethesda Utah gig, PAX east, and other preview parties for the press.
Regardless, it is my prediction that it will land in the mid-high 80’s on Metacritic regarding the cough “professional reviews” cough. Mostly they will rave about it but cut off a star due to “no single player campaign” (yes, I know what you are going to say about the bots…but some of the reviewers just won’t get it or won’t get what SD is trying to accomplish), “just don’t know why there aren’t any female models considering the vast amount of customization”, and the misconception that they HAVE to play online to have fun. Oh, and they will probably only level their characters to the second tier and then rush to their keyboards to be the first to publish a REVIEW (how could it be a review after only playing for a few hours???).
And for the user reviews…most will be 10’s and 9’s from the user reviews, but the average will be pulled down to an overall 7 or 8 average. Mostly because those who don’t get it…cough CoD run and gun lone wolf types cough will bitch and moan about all the stuff us ejumicated types already know about and are looking forward to (no “dedicated” sniper weapons, no “rag doll”, no female character models, etc.) and will be extremely pissed that the actually have to…gasp… work together. Because of this shock to their system, they will SPRINT with their SMART ASS button (see what I did there???) straight to the meta review posts to give their opinion as to why the game sucks and why it’s no CoD. Oh, let’s not forget about the those who are upset that SD went multiplatform (either forgetting or just plain ignorant about ETQW) and will post something along the following…“this is clearly a console port and SD has sold their soul to the console devils and abandoned the loyal PC community” (followed by a pledge to NEVER BUY A SD GAME AGAIN!!! sniff)…and then go right back online and play the crap out of the game.

That is why I wait for good ol Jim Sterling, he might be a douche but he is the rare breed of being a honest douche.
Yea, reveiwers are going to look at Brink and say, “hmm, not CoD? I dislike it. What do you mean ‘teamwork’, what? It takes more then three shots to kill someone? 5/10.”
Well not really like that but i bet you they will complain about alot of stuff they do not fully understand or are not using/doing properly.
Review scores are meaningless to anyone who considers themself a gamer ;), metacritic is for casuals.
Especially anything from a big company where they wont give out a review copy unless promised an 8+ regardless of game quality. Like EA.
Try and find a reviewer whose likeminded and just stick to reading their stuff.
