Statistics screwed up again...

(generousMinx) #1

Two or three weeks ago DB developers fixed statistsics issue where nothing was counting and that was great. (even this bug isn’t entirely fixed because no kills are counting on my friend’s revive gun, but hopefully You’re gonna do something with that). In the latest patch You told us that You fixed incorrect XP points in profile section:

“Fixed bug where the XP Earned in the Profile section would display incorrect values”

Even though You lied to us that the statistics are counting, but they’re just not updating on our side, I decided to just be quiet. The profile section was displaying incorrect values, that’s true. But the only thing You have updated was just the XP earned, nothing else and that screwed up points per minute (PPM), because updating XP without updating hours played, caused incorrect PPM.

I don’t know if You wanted to make us happy with only updated XP, but You only screwed up things again. And by the way, You apoligized us for the new crafting system and didn’t say anything about statistics problem except telling us that the issue got repaired. And You shouldn’t apologize us for the problem. No. You should apologize us for lieing that the statistics are counting on your side.

If You didn’t lie to us and the statistics were counting, I am sorry for posting this, but I am hoping for some update or something.

For the year I have been playing, the revive gun as well as other specific weapons have never updated their kill statistics. I believe this is because those weapons are no longer considered individual weapons but abilities now. I do not know for sure myself though. All I know is that weapons that are also merc abilities do not update their usage in the profile section at least for me.

As far as bugs are concerned, it is possible for a programmer to fix a bug in an isolated setting. Once the fix is released it should solve the bug for everyone… at least in theory. it also may not fix the problem for every one. No one really knows how the fix will turn out until run time when it is released.

Lying generally occurs when some one is intentionally trying to deceive some one else about something.

I personally don’t believe the programmers stating they fixed a bug, that could potentially not have been fixed for every one, is a lie. In the programmers mind they believe they addressed the problem and are stating such. Having it turn out that no it did not fix the issue for every one doesn’t make it a lie. it just means the programmer has more work to do.

Now unless you actually have access to their databases, I am not sure how you are able to tell one way or another whether or not the statistics are counting on their side. Just because they are not updating on our side does not imply they are not updating on their side. It is possible they are updating on their side but they do not have a way to sync their data with ours. plus there is the practicality of doing so. How much time would it take to update the stats of all DB players

As far as you getting an update or response from them, you are unfortunately going to have to wait till Monday. I believe most Nexon and Splash Damage employees are off on the weekends. If they can respond to you I am sure they will in time.

I asked Exedore on a stream whether or not the stats were recorded from the month or so they didn’t update. He basically said they weren’t recorded and the stats had to be turned off due to a server bug unfortunately.

It wasn’t just PPM, it was everything from badges to kills. I do wish they had addressed this and at least made an announcement about it, but hopefully they will next time if it happens again.

If there is a bug please make a bug report in the bug section. Do not create threads in the General section and insist that the developers lied to everyone. There might be a problem but that doesn’t mean that they lied. That’s not only immature on your part but also crusading against the developers which isn’t allowed on this forum. Closing.
