STATISTICS quickly needed- an Open letter to developers

I have some idea with statistics at the end of the map like was in ET. Needed headshots, accuracy, gibs and the most important DAMAGE. It’ll be very helpfull for gamers to improve their skill and recruiting new clan members.
I hope this post will go to developers.

Why promoting TDM even more than it is now? What we really need is statistics such as revive and HP healed as medics and repair/defusing/planting as engi.

the big meter at the end should be damage per minute istead of k/d since k/d is a pointless stat in this game. they should add more stats to the score screen and I miss the end of map rewards in et as well :confused:

As @DMaster2 said, that sounds like TDM kind of stats… which I wouldn’t really say we need. Isn’t it better just to look at people’s exp gain in certain categories (such as support and objective)?

That’s what I’d do, anyways… Personally, I don’t see these kinda stats as being a huge priority, I would rather focus went on more useful things such as new maps, UI optimisation and major bug fixes, right now. But that’s just me.

If there are stats which we need, they’re not the ones mentioned by @basal.

The stats we need are ECHO data!

echo data is useless but I do wish to know how the smg data turned out after the last change that was “suppored by echo data”…

They took it out for good reasons. Promoting the deathmatch over team and objective play was deemed as not so smart.

I never said about promoting deathmatch… statistics does not exclude teamplay

I agree with Dmaster, it will be nice to see who is usefull in his profession, fragger- frags/damage, medics -heeling etc.

i would like stats, and an open data base of all stats.

everything from accuracy with each weapon, to your overall SPM, to your objective SPM to revives ect ect.

They could be open or private for all i care. i just want to see what im good/bad at and what need improving ect or what is improving yadda yadda yadda

Yes, like what others above have mentioned, a detailed list of stats such as accuracy, heals, airstrike/nade/explosive kills etc. would be very desired.

However,
The Devs of Dirty Bomb have other things that are of more importance to work on such as unreleased mercs, maps, game balance in general. Should they ever come around to doing a stat sheet shown at the end of the game, that’d be great because everybody loves numbers. :slight_smile:

I agree with those who said about bugs, this is definitlly needed and out of discusion but add stats is “5 minutes” work for programist. Maps are other case but on this moment aren’t urgent.
They should work faster with updates

p.s. what is echo data ?

@basal Firstly, I do not claim to be a game developer but adding stats is not a mere “5 minutes” work for programmers. They’ll have to work on a UI, how the server collects and stores the data required for the stats and the stability of the servers once there is greater data load etc.

I am not knowledgeable on game developing but I do know that, telling the devs to work faster is a sure way of making them feel more pressurized and in-turn slowing them down due to burnout. I’m sure they’re all working their asses off to make DB successful just as how we are all here to give feedback and ideas on how to make DB successful.

Instead of telling them to work faster, why not write words of appreciation to motivate the devs further? :wink:

I’m sure that game system is registering already all these stats like accuracy, headshots etc, I;m pretty sure that NGS is collecting this for hax proving ( ofc if it’s not placebo :D)
My mate is programmer :slight_smile: and said this is easy and fast to do it, ( 5 minutes was in quotation marks- maybe it’s matter of hours or days)

I would definitely welcome the stats , similar to ET. You could see everything, dmg done, dmg received (dmg done and recieved to and from teammates), number of headshots, gibs, revives etc…

Stats are cool, we could brag about headshots done, commend medics for revives done and we could also blame the team mates for not gibing properly :slight_smile:

All parties satisfied :wink:

Bring the stats! XP are the most useless ones, not really saying anything…

Competitive ranking should be enough. On a side note I personnaly wouldnt want to be part of a clan recruiting players for their stats. At least not without having a clansystem in game and global clans stats.
