Starcraft II

Ah cheers.

Most problematic right now is the M3 ball in PvT. Not even in the manner that it’s too strong, but it’s just too easy to build and use. The counter (zealots + templar) for protoss comes way too late and only assess the strategy partially.
Cheers! I Don’t see them entering in on roaches though.

As for the widow mine, I see the guy in the replay trying to isolate the tagged unit and make it move as far away from the main group as possible. Wouldn’t it be much easier to just kill that unit?
Do widow mines not blow up when you kill the unit? Widow mines do self-damage to terran too, so I would think people will be sending them back out at enemy lines rather than killing their units.

Other thing: the oracle with the entomb spell ? => http://starcraft.wikia.com/wiki/Oracle

No funny stuff. And how can you prevent that from opponent side of view. SpineCrawlers ? LOL WTF guys, that is just rediculous

(tokamak) #224

Blowing them up would enable the terran player to shoot the units right after they’re tagged. That would be ridiculously powerful. I guess the most balanced as well as realistic solution would be to leave the mines ticking away on the place where the unit died.

Queens maybe?

(Humate) #226

The oracle costs 200 gas and has hardly any HP at all.
Imo zergs wont be raging about mineral harrasment when it comes out though.
They will be bitching about cloak.

(tokamak) #228

I never got why mutalisks are supposed to be a problem for Protoss? Any zerg going muta against me is doomed.

(tokamak) #229

I just played six games in a row, won a few, lost a few but every time my opponents felt the need to discuss the match with them. All of them incredibly argumentative. What the hell?

(Humate) #230

Im betting its the same people that have “ladder anxiety”

(tokamak) #231

I have to admit it feels a bit good when a platinum player feels the need to discuss why the game wasn’t actually as close as it appeared to a silver player.

DJwheat is somehow a plat, which makes no sense to me. Destiny’s “Macro All Queen” series was what I always pointed silver leaguers to when they thought there was something special about what they were doing on ladder. But then we could all just learn to survive in GM like inControl by only winning games with 2 base prot all-ins… :x.

(Humate) #234

lol i used to watch his stream… its not always 2base collosus

(tokamak) #235

My brother’s account reset after a season of not playing (had no idea that was possible) so I got to play 5 placement matches. 4 out of 5 times I succeeded in placing a proxy gateway IN my opponent’s base. He can’t finish of both gateways with all his workers, he’ll destroy one but the second gateway will be able to chronoboost out a zealot. If he commited his workers to destroying the first then he has no economy for any units counter it.

(INF3RN0) #236

Unarguably the most overrated player.

(Humate) #237

Sure not denying that, some would say the same about idra and tyler…
But u.s players tend to be overrated.

Idra is more stubborn, rude, and unlikable than overrated by far. Incontrol is just someone who did well early on and built a fan base, but still is unable to really explain why he does what he does or do anything really innovative/impressive for the game. One time I watched him play 10 games in a row, losing all until he started 2basing- the whole time losing because he just did the same thing every game. When he used to cast games too it was like he couldn’t really explain what/why was happening, other than giving the non-informative playbyplay that djwheat usually does. Not a lot of good US players ofc. Huk is by far my favorite NA protoss, and then probably kiwi- Canada wins again.

(Humate) #239

Oh incontrol wins the award, again not denying that.
Simply pointing out that hype to results ratio is a bit out of wack with a few players.
But its understandable that the hype is there, given they came from broodwar.

And im with you on huk.

Just a big fan of TLO and Grubby
