Ahh, after months of hard work and frustration, here it is!
This is a pretty early beta… and it might be a little premature… but hell… im so sick of looking at this damn thing i felt like i needed a break from it. Anyway, it runs fine, but there are a few minor bugs which shouldnt really be much of a problem at this point.

Map description:
Multiplayer map for Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory

Story: The Axis have taken control over large portions of the Russian city of Stalingrad. In order to
re-take the city, the Allies must gain control of a small neighborhood on the western side of
the city. This area is a key strategic position, from which the allies hope to launch further
missions deeper into the city. However, being aware of the importance of this area, the axis
have placed two jagdpanther tanks somewhere within this area, which must be destroyed in order for
the allies to move in their own tanks, and secure the area.

Objectives:

Allies:

  1. capture munitions depot spawn
  2. build command post
  3. destroy upper wall
  4. destroy main gate to secure munitions depot spawn
  5. destroy east tank
  6. destroy west tank
  7. prevent axis from building ccommand post/destroy axis command post

Axis:

  1. defend forward spawn
  2. prevent allies from building command post
  3. defend uper wall
  4. defend main gate
  5. defend east tank
  6. defend west tank
  7. build axis command post

Known Bugs:
Doors dont make sounds

		When spawning as axis, you cant select the north spawn and spawn there.. your forced to spawn
		at the forward spawn untill the allies take it.

		One of the tank icons doesnt show in the limbo menu untill you actually join axis.  IF you
		click axis in the limbo menu, it wont show, but when you click 'ok' and start the game, it
		shows up just fine.

		The axis teamdoors dont have an axis logo on them

		If you find any bugs or errors, please let me know!

Notes: a) There are a bunch of neat (and useful) jumps on this map… try and find 'em :slight_smile:
b) Many of the roofs are accessible. Some are accessible by climbing up pipes (like the factory and the
church for instance).
c) The map slightly favors the offensive team (allies) so I made the timelimit 20. Hopefully this will
work out

I wish people would use pcgamemods and not somewhere crappy like fileplanet to host their maps, that way there’s none of this login/spy crap :frowning:
I’ll have to wait for another mirror, but please look into pcgamemods, it’s free and flexible! I want to see this map!

Ive been trying to set up an account at pcgamemods for days… but i cant. They wont send me a confirmation/login email (to EITHER of my email accounts). So im looking for other hosts atm.

I’ve just downloaded the map (wasn’t such a pain in the ass as I have had expected) and the only comment I can give so far Is:

Stalingard is WAY down south from where you’ve put the pin. (Search for Caricin at river Volga a bit north from Kaspian lake).

And that’s about it, becouse I haven’t been able to run the map.
I keep getting this strange error:

hunk_alloc failed on 7814400

Anyone knows what this is about?

you have to bump up the size that allocates memory for et maps, in the console type
/com_hunkmegs 80
then restart et.

the standard size that et has is 56 meg, so this map need’s more than the standard.
i keep mine at 128.

There a a few maps around now that need the hunkmegs to be bumped up from the default. The Indiana Jones map by Hummer is another one that needs this. I think it has something to do with the amount of textures (or something like that).

Stormshadow, I assume your happy with the command map then? You didn’t respond.

The map isnt really that huge, btw… it just seems that way… Id say its not that much bigger than oasis or gorldrush (certainly smaller than fuel dump). I guess when you havent learned a map, it seems bigger… i remember the first time i played the standard ET maps and they seemed immense.

I can barely see what im typing… black text on dark grey bg = bad :smiley:

The com_hunk megs is a problem for the avarage joe player, there were 2 maps I know of that had this problem and the mappers fixed it.

it’s hard to tell the people to download a custom map anyway, telling them to change their hunkmegs is almost impossible for a server admin, about every player just leaves the server and probably doesn’t come back

the map looks great will ltest it tonight and if it’s good I’d really like to include it in our custom campaign but not with the hunkmeg-bug, sorry, plz fix it, need to lower filesize, maybe you can leave out some brushes and so on…

I agree, while most players do have the systems to up hunk-megs, it’s not going to happen.
