There are multiple threads and answers: Dirty Bomb will never have a TDM because TDM is stupid and contraproductive for objective-teamplay.
And more importantly it doesn’t add up to SD’s vision for the game nor their past games - disclaimer, do not know of every past game they’ve made.
Just no.
Yes for capture the bomb/data/objective or pushing maps like 2 or 4 objectives and both sides are attacking and defending in one time.
But DM and TDM?? No.

Tell me about how successful Brink is and how many people play it now competitive. Oh snap.
I do believe that a gamemode like this should be implemented into this great game o:)
Dirty bomb is not suited for deathmatch. Some mercs are made for playing an objective, and some other are definitely not made to be killing machine. A team deathmatch mode would not be balanced at all, as well as not fitting Dirty Bomb’s spirit.
I know they most likely will never make a TDM but it would be nice to add any new mode
No one plays Brink
Hey amigo, I totally hear you, I’ve enjoyed a good number of plain old deathmatch games in my time and in a lot of games it’s a mode that really does no harm. Now, I’m no game balance expert, but a huge thing about this game is that it’s been built around the idea of completing the objectives, so a team deathmatch might be a problem considering the Mercs and stuff have been balanced around objectives. Designed for performing within that goal. Some Mercs are actually programmed to be less skilled at killing because their entire gimmick or ability or weapons or what have you are designed for that objective stuff, while some others are designed to be more skilled at pure killing, like Fragger.
Plus, it might divide the playerbase, which is at a solid number right now, but in the future, especially with releases like Overwatch (I will be playing Overwatch, heh), dwindling player numbers might already be a concern.
And to my understanding, Splash Damage isn’t a huge team, so with as much stuff as people already want in the game, managing deathmatch modes might distract the overall workforce from accomplishing goals more important to this game’s identity.
I hope I don’t come off as too cross or anything, it’s just that I saw a lot of folks shouting no at you and figured, well I’m a guy who likes deathmatch so I can relate to your point, maybe I’ll try to explain a few points as to why team deathmatch is something this community won’t want, and the devs probably wouldn’t do for a long time, if ever.
But trust me, this objective stuff can be a real blast and grow on you quick. Give it a shot, and if killing is your style, grab a kill-oriented Merc and slaughter those who are less armed to deal with you! Oh yeah, right, almost forgot [flips through script]- and play dirty!
i dunno maybe im an optomist but perhaps if there was a DM mode to play people would go there to play it rather than coming into the objective games to do it?
I am 100% against TDM.
Not only would the objective based mercs be made pointless, there would be more players going into Objective modes playing it like TDM.
Having the game only have objective modes means that players who don’t play the objective either stop playing or learn to play the objective.
Then what is a sense of teamworking game when there is yet 1 mode which will be overused.
And my view is not on optimistic and pesimistic side since my side belongs to realism :I
