Squad member Exp

Just a thought, but as your squad members level up perhaps have them gain an extra energy point at certin levels or some other perk to level your squad members

Good idea!

I’d rather defeat someone because they made a mistake tactically, not because members of my squad have upwards of 10,000XP. Can’t say I’d support this.

Nice, the exp is rather useless at the moment. Greenest recruit is as good as a veteran is a bit silly. Pumping exp via single player challenge isn’t hard.

I’d say that adding more energy is a bad idea since the game will be filled with high energy recruits shooting everything else. Additional skills unlock would be better - allow you to customize your recruit to suit your playstyle without compromising the game design.

Squad EXP can tell you how new a particular soldier is to someone’s arsenal, which tell you how experienced they are with them, which lends a fairly good idea of what sort of tactics they’re going to employ when you get a look at what they’re carrying. It’s not entirely useless (though it is currently capped absurdly low, don’t know if that’s going to last though). Skill unlocks would be nice, but likely they’ll expand on the character roster and assign new skills to them rather than make it so any one character has three or so different abilities, which is ultimately as good, and takes some of the guesswork out of deciding the best way to approach your enemy, which is something usually reserved for enemy Captains (do they have Orbital Strike or should I try and keep them away from the rest of our army, do they have Detecto-Sweep or Bee Bomb, etc).

Skills or improvements based on recruit EXP would ultimately only serve to widen the gap between new players and those who either paid or played their way to a more diverse roster. It might be a minor gap, but it’s still a concern.

adding special features to the unit itself by leveling it up ends in a game that casual players can’t play with the full strategical components.

what should be added is a coin gain for leveling up a soldier - like 100-500 for every level. this allows new players to get new characters sooner and is another bonus for doing some games - but it is no unfair feature you earn for nerding the game.

with friendly regards

Tinker: we have a thread about outfits and such. It may be in a soldiers lvl that some of the outfits and skins can be unlocked perhaps.

adding an unlock for the skins kills their main-usage

skins/ outfits personalize your gaming. if they make them unlockable through the usual gaming, there is no real “feature”[besides 3 new maps] left for people who actually donate money for this awesome free game.

you have to keep in mind: the game is FREE. there has to be ANY feature that is given to people who spend money but the feature should not give you advantages over someone who does not “donate”. skins / outfits are a good feature and DO NOT give you any advantage in the gameplay
( well, maybe there are younger kids that play - and actually fear dracula - but this is rather improbable)

hope you get my point

Do ya know what this game needs…

TAUNTS!!!

Exp should unlock kill taunts, Taunts that cost action points and overly dramatic death animations when your character dies. I agree with the consensus of posters that no tactical alterations should be earned with exp, but I am all for psychological advantages caused by mocking taunts and badass cosmetic perks.

I’d like to see much much more levels. Like in ‘Rainbow six - Vegas 2’, you would after months not have reached the highest levels. Kept you gaming
