Its time for another spooky feedback thread post.
I got to play this fine tuning “balance” (Bug and Dome) update for a few hours an I like the feel.
I will start out by saying that TTK seems a lot faster as people are getting used to the game and also with the new non-bugged burst fire guns.
I will start with the Burst Fire:
Stark-AR - This gun feels amazing and its very hard to tell it is slower then the BR-16. This gun packs a huge punch! I saw a lot of people using this gun last night and even level 5’s being very effective with it. Like I said the gun pack a huge Aim-Punch with it and it can really throw things off.
BR-16 - Again awesome changes with the bug fix and it seems to be a viable alternative to the M4.
Dreiss-AR - I got a few maps in with this gun yesterday and even though the bugs are fixed its still not a valuable gun in the game. There are a few reasons for this:
- The Spread is still to great. Can’t pop heads consistently and even losing some tracking of the body.
- The IS recoil is to much to over come.
- Getting hit by any gun and experiencing Aim Punch is to much to over come with this gun and the slow ROF
Timik - Little buff to the gun and it is hardly noticeable. I might land a few more bullets but overall not a huge change and the M4 is still much better. The burst fire guns are hands down better now.
Blishlok IS - Less bouncy but hipfire is still the way to go. Unless its a very specific situation. Green dot needs to be tighter.
The other balance changes are nice and dont really stick out to much. Hochfir, Redeye and Nader are all OK tweaks.
Balance Conclusion: Very Nice changes especially with the Burst-Fire. These guns pack a huge punch and after a few hours of playing I actually needed to take a break because it felt like my head was shacking from the amount of Aim-Punch I was receiving. With the amount of Damage these guns are putting down range a good medic will quickly run out of heals. This game is turning into a very fast pace and Fast Time to Kill style with these changes.
Wall Jump Spam - I noticed much more wall jump spam in my playing time yesterday. People with Burst fire guns where just spamming off walls and having dead on aim. I also noticed mercs jumping and flying through me a lot more. This was again very taxing on the eyes as people are seemingly doing impossible movements and still having very accurate aim. I get the wall jump thing but the heights people were getting and the amount was getting a little ridiculous.
DOME - In my 4 - 5 hours of playing this new update no one ever selected Dome! So I actually never played it with the new changes.
Other Things On This Fine Tuning Update:
- Added sorting options to Merc and Weapon Stats pages
This is OK but having 3 pages of stats and mercs isnt cool. Its OK to shrink things down and create a sortable Excel style list in game for this type of stuff.
-Disabled numerous exploitable commands in the console
I am very glad for these changes! I must have had some attached to my quick bind keys because explosions are huge now! Getting hit by a Fletcher Sticky bomb is like a death sentence. Screen goes black and red for around 100 ms and you lose focus on where things are. I am not sure I like the game this way and maybe they can be dimmed down a little but I agree and like it puts everyone on the same playing field.
***I just want to say that the explosions, Aim Punch, Mussel Flash, Mussel Smoke and a few other things make the game very hard to grind and your eyes and brain get tired much faster. Just something to keep in mind.
played Arty all weekend long with the BR…gonna give the Stark some love this week just to try it out…The Dreiss i like but need som moore love.
