Its time for another spooky feedback thread post.

I got to play this fine tuning “balance” (Bug and Dome) update for a few hours an I like the feel.

I will start out by saying that TTK seems a lot faster as people are getting used to the game and also with the new non-bugged burst fire guns.

I will start with the Burst Fire:

Stark-AR - This gun feels amazing and its very hard to tell it is slower then the BR-16. This gun packs a huge punch! I saw a lot of people using this gun last night and even level 5’s being very effective with it. Like I said the gun pack a huge Aim-Punch with it and it can really throw things off.

BR-16 - Again awesome changes with the bug fix and it seems to be a viable alternative to the M4.

Dreiss-AR - I got a few maps in with this gun yesterday and even though the bugs are fixed its still not a valuable gun in the game. There are a few reasons for this:

  1. The Spread is still to great. Can’t pop heads consistently and even losing some tracking of the body.
  2. The IS recoil is to much to over come.
  3. Getting hit by any gun and experiencing Aim Punch is to much to over come with this gun and the slow ROF

Timik - Little buff to the gun and it is hardly noticeable. I might land a few more bullets but overall not a huge change and the M4 is still much better. The burst fire guns are hands down better now.

Blishlok IS - Less bouncy but hipfire is still the way to go. Unless its a very specific situation. Green dot needs to be tighter.

The other balance changes are nice and dont really stick out to much. Hochfir, Redeye and Nader are all OK tweaks.

Balance Conclusion: Very Nice changes especially with the Burst-Fire. These guns pack a huge punch and after a few hours of playing I actually needed to take a break because it felt like my head was shacking from the amount of Aim-Punch I was receiving. With the amount of Damage these guns are putting down range a good medic will quickly run out of heals. This game is turning into a very fast pace and Fast Time to Kill style with these changes.

Wall Jump Spam - I noticed much more wall jump spam in my playing time yesterday. People with Burst fire guns where just spamming off walls and having dead on aim. I also noticed mercs jumping and flying through me a lot more. This was again very taxing on the eyes as people are seemingly doing impossible movements and still having very accurate aim. I get the wall jump thing but the heights people were getting and the amount was getting a little ridiculous.

DOME - In my 4 - 5 hours of playing this new update no one ever selected Dome! So I actually never played it with the new changes.

Other Things On This Fine Tuning Update:

  • Added sorting options to Merc and Weapon Stats pages
    This is OK but having 3 pages of stats and mercs isnt cool. Its OK to shrink things down and create a sortable Excel style list in game for this type of stuff.

-Disabled numerous exploitable commands in the console
I am very glad for these changes! I must have had some attached to my quick bind keys because explosions are huge now! Getting hit by a Fletcher Sticky bomb is like a death sentence. Screen goes black and red for around 100 ms and you lose focus on where things are. I am not sure I like the game this way and maybe they can be dimmed down a little but I agree and like it puts everyone on the same playing field.

***I just want to say that the explosions, Aim Punch, Mussel Flash, Mussel Smoke and a few other things make the game very hard to grind and your eyes and brain get tired much faster. Just something to keep in mind.

I did manage to try new DOme (Its a new DOme, its a new Day, and i’m feeling GooooooOOOOD!).
and 1st stage changes are very wellcome. it is easier to attack.
But i didnt like that all jumps are easier than they were before. Game should be difficult, so that players could get better. =(

I don’t know but I think the semi-auto bug is still in the game, well at least for the Dreiss. It starts out fine. click shoot, click shoot, but after dying and respawning I notice that it no longer gives the same response. Now its click shoot click click shoot.

It’s a shame because I really like the consistent damage of the battle rifle’s single shot. I know that if I get a head shot I just did 50 damage. Whereas the burst rifles’ damage are based upon chance. If I hit the head there is a very slim chance I just did 90 damage but more than likely I only did about 30.

I really would love to play mercs that use the dreiss, especially arty, but I just can’t justify playing them using a weapon that remains unreliable.

More Spooky Feedback:

I agree something is still up with the Dreiss. It just doesnt feel right. As I stated above I lose my aim way to fast with it. Not sure if it is the bug yet, recoil or spread gain. Keep tweaking it will get there.

There are a ton of places on maps where people seem to glitch or warp out. I know we have been complaining about this for a long time and yes Ping is one of the factors however I have noticed it is more specific is certain areas of the maps. Basically anywhere that has stairs! I have also seen it where there are wholes in walls and map transition areas like door ways. I have also seen it when people RLRL along a wall without jumping. And finally crouch spam in any of these areas stated above.

The Hochfir feels amazing. I was popping heads like there’s no tomorrow!

I will also mention the game takes on another whole feeling when playing against good players. You definitely notice aim punch a lot more and also since they are a good player you notice their movements. Especially crouch spams then add aim punch and then your recoil makes the game frustrating. I’m not qq’ing I am simply pointing this out because it made me focus a lot more and “try” if that makes sense. It was very stressful to play against a person of equal skill and meanwhile my entire team sucked so that didnt help. :smiley:

After many many hours with the burst fire guns I gravitated back to the M4 and also the Timik. The reason for this was warppy or glitchy players and the simple fact you have more forgiveness with those guns. I also went back to the auto guns because they can handle Aim Punch a lot better. The rapid fire semi auto guns can be thrown off against a good player. The more and more I play against good players the more and more I recognize aim punch and can see where people are coming from. Just need to find a way with either a gun, merc or movement to counter it.

All in All as I have stated before I feel the TTK is going up especially now that more people are getting used to the game and have more experience.

I have also noticed that people might play this game to level 5 - 8 and then run across better players and or much better plays and simply quit the game. The skill difference in this game is baffling. Its like there are only 1,000 hardcore “pro’s” playing this game right now and thousands of former hell kitty players. This game has a huge learning curve and if you combine that with the maps and performance then people simply arent giving it a chance. I have been playing 3 years and I still get so mad I smash my keyboard, /quit and take a break…

I’ve always had issues with high ping players and lag prediction but its really bad this patch, to the extent that really obvious warping is going on as well now. Even worse this warping is occasionally happening now with low pingers as well. The invisible player bug as well - had a guy yesterday planting mines (with a 380 ping as well) killing you out of nowhere (couldn’t hear the mine being dropped either). Need a max-ping cap on servers, with the quick join option at least (why you’d deliberately join a server with a 300+ ping is beyond me even if its the only one available).

The ‘pro’ thing - this is a big issue… Each match there will be 2 or 3 high level players (plus the odd good low level / smurf) and the rest are newbies, which does suggest a retention problem. You can get to level 7 or so in around a day’s play which is nowhere near enough experience to play with the ‘big boys/girls’. Make levelling up too slow at low levels then accusations of grindfest will start. Level 10 does seem to be a better cut-off point, we have far too few level-10 plus servers though currently.

100% agree and that was one of my main issues yesterday. Level 10 people are still newbies IMO… They still had no idea what was going on however a min level 10 server is a start to attempt to separate players and skill.

I dont think SD will change the level curve so I would think adding a few level 15 or 20 servers might work?

I would also like to see some 5v5 SW pub servers! Servers that can be treated more like a match and possible end quicker with out all this giant spam and mass of people. Comp is 5v5 because of the map sizes why not pubs? DB is all about Kill, Repeat, Kill, Repeat right now so when you add more body into a pub it get super frustrating.

I really have no idea which direction SD should go with this game however new true SW maps are a good start. I would also add and tweak spawn times either by staggering them or adding the running spawn wave clock. Plus adding more of the obvious stuff like better performance and general things that make the game easier on the eyes.

Introducing 5v5 servers for Execution and SW.

Instead of Min Level 10 Servers add min level rank servers.

There are no community servers yet; however name 10 or 20 servers something cool and notify people they can bookmark them.

Lets get people grinding and sticking around map to map. The time entering a game from start up is much faster. The time between maps is crazy long!! Is it like 2 minutes or something it feels like forever and so everyone leaves. Pubs should be pop pop pop.

Max I can play DB is a few hours without getting super frustrated or simply burned out. That is the style of this game though however thinking outside the box and adding unique quarks to pubbing will help.

I think we need to ask ourselves what makes me grind DB?
#1) Missions
#2) Crates (Sometimes) (Very Vague when they fall but I know I get one when I level up)
#3) Stats (Gun States) (Wins) (Leveling up?)
#4) Credits (Grind to get credits for Mercs) (And Bronze Cases)
#5) I grind to shoot people in the face! Games like this should relieve stress not add to it. haha
#6) To Rank Up when playing Ranked MM.

Things that arent in the game yet that will make me grind?
#1) More detailed Stats and Third Party that people can see them
#2) More things to spend credits on! More things to buy. I have many idea’s here but don’t want to say on general.
#3) Access to the pub player rank chart to show my last matches and to improve my “spm” score.
#4) Access to player DB profile pages so I can check their ACC and SPM and more.
#5) Better, more fun maps that arent defensive oriented and are possible to complete in 1 - 5 minutes if you are lotto.
#6) True Collectibles
#7) Pub Que with Friends and being locked together and on the same team every end of map shuffle.
#8) More definitive information that a person isn’t hacking! Something~
#9) Global Reported Score Board for Haxing and players that have been Banned.
#10) If you can not do #9 then do a Cheat-O-Meter like THIS
#11) Once season are added a visual of all season ranks and stats. Big Visual of highest ranked obtained per Season.
#12) VAC bans
#13) Level Removal in pubs
#14) If you report a player for haxing Nexon Anti-cheat runs a slighty more indepth scanner on you!
#15) Better Performance
#16) Smooth Merc Animation and no glitching.
#17) 100% Locked Configs for an even playing feild.
