spline plotter

(=DaRk=CrAzY-NuTTeR) #1

ok, i have a tank, wot dose the spline plotter do and how do i use it?

(MadMaximus) #2

the spline plotter will just draw the path the tank will take… if you have no control points then you will just see the green line that attaches each spline together turn red, however… if you do have control points you will see the red line deviate from every spline that uses the control points. it shows you what path the tank will take at those control points. try adding a control point inbetween 2 splines and then click on a spline and hit the plotter, you will see what i mean. the controls are just to make the path a tank or any mover that follows the splines nice and smooth.

Press the ‘spline path’ button. It’ll draw the path of your spline (straight line between spline pts with no control pts, or curved if there is a control pt). It’s very useful in making turns nice and smooth

do i have to select anything, cos when i try pressing the button with nothing selected, nothing happens

Move a control then click again the plot spline, you’ll see the path move. It might move a tiny bit depending on how much you moved the control.

oh, i thought it joined everything up

like join the first spline to the seccond, am i right or very wrong?

No, it shows the spline path. You have to have the spline points in correctly (ie. sp1 targets sp2, etc). You should see a green line with an aroow when a spline point targets another. Check out goldrush for spline points - that’s where I learned.
