It’s extremely annoying to find 5 seperate games that have 3-4 human players.

I’m tired of wasting my heals on bots that go down 5 seconds later. Not to mention I selected MULTIPLAYER, not coop.

Yeah, it would be nice if the game started when all spots are filled with players, like you know some sort of lobby.

i don’t see anything wrong with bots, its not liek they show up on server browser as real people…

well blame the server, not all servers are full of bots… its up to the server operator to choose what and how the server runs… just find another one.

I use 8 bots on my server. 4 on each team. Has a player joins the game it will kick a bot. This means that once the server is half full, 8 players, there will be no bots in the server. But yeah, bots don’t even show up on the server browser so I don’t see what is too wrong with it.

Resurrecting this thread because I’d be happy if the bots where removed and I didn’t want to make a whole new thread to rage in so I’m going to vent here, after my third night in a row of rage quitting because of these dumb **** bots!
Every time I load up this game I must remind myself this is a team game, stick with team, help the team, don’t try lone wolf like almost every other game. It is impossible with these bots!
I don’t want them to mow the other team, complete objectives, or keep me buffed to the brim, just be sensible please. I know nothing about coding AI and I’m sure its hard, but they really are bad. Worse than L4D2 bots which I didn’t think could be done :wink:

P.S There is only one 8v8 server that has a couple of people in when I play in NZ/AUS area so my choices are play with bots or don’t play at all. Games I’ve had with mostly humans have been great, I really like this game even with its flaws:)

I think bots kill game population quite a bit.

I don’t mind them myself in small doses but people want confidence to log on and not get a bot server. I think the sooner they go the better, or at least have a flag on the server browser informing you of bots or not

… bots on level 20 are pretty good, but on lower levels it’s better to go for the objectives on your own …

… try the TOG - Server … there are pretty good guys playing … played two matches earlier tonight and got only 5 kills each … concentrated later on more on buffing my mates etc. … ping was with ~70 - 80 not to bad too …

Why are bots even in MP? Shouldn’t they just be in campaign? Shouldn’t default MP not have bots.

This game is a mess.

Not 100% sure if this complaint is about console, PC or both. On PC, can’t you see if a server has bots enabled and choose another? I know PC players are seeing fewer and fewer full servers with viable pings, so maybe your options are limited?

On console, yeah, you’re stuck with wherever matchmaking dumps you, which is the actual problem, not the bots. The matchmaking needs a pretty big tweak, because it’s not putting people into games together as often as it should, resulting in a bunch of matches with only 4-5 humans instead of fewer matches with full teams. I remember having the same issue with Bad Company 2 lasting for literally MONTHS before they finally fixed their matchmaking. I think some of those fixes are in the patch coming with the DLC, so hopefully it’ll be better then.

Why not have bots? When a few players are missing from 8v8 and the teams aren’t balanced, it is much more fun with bots filling the slots until someone joins. Servers without bots, it happens that you end up playing 6v8 for a while, which is really boring.

Problem I’ve got is there’s consistently more bots than human players. When I’m playing online, I want to play with other human players. Not just some humans and an abundance of bots.

Match me with people, the AI is terrible!

If SD removed rank restriction from all gameplay modes, I’d wager bot overpopulation would cease to be.

Additionally removing Ping restriction would guarantee it.

Easy fix, limit the max number of bots to like 10.

but seriously. Bots are good place holders and allow for a better full game feeling. In an ideal world, less bots is better. But with all the rage quitters…

we need bots. :slight_smile:

I like BigBiker’s idea above. Only have bots fill in for up to 4v4.

@TONSCHUH Yeah TOG is a good server (the only server a lot of the time), I’ve had some good games on there. I may have to just play on weekends when it actually gets populated.

@Sleazebaggins I’m on PC and a there is often only the one 8v8 server with a couple of people in it. I go in hoping it gets filled and end up rage quitting over the bots.

I do like the idea of limiting bot numbers, but that would be up to the server owners wouldn’t it? TOG are you listening?:wink:

Who plays in 4v4 games anyway? I only join nearly full servers, and I’d leave if it got that low.

No, what we need is bots to fill in when they drop out of 8v8 games, so the game doesn’t get too unbalanced while we wait for new players to join.

Reduction in bots is more realistic.

Thing is, people quit when they have bots on their team. How many times have you seen a 8v4(with 4 bots) probably not enough (because people never switch teams :wink: maybe another issue but decent players just don’t like playing AI, they’d rather have a 4v4 or a 5v5
