"Sometimes I don’t understand what game you people are playing…

On ps3 here, and aside from a tiny amount of texture pop, this game looks gorgeous. "

Like a mother who loves her ugly child and thinks it looks gorgeous. Think brink looks okay but not as good as a lot of other games…

btw: to me is the whole “other games had bad launches too”- argumentation stupid. Just because the others sucked it doesnt mean you have to do it too.
Anyways looking forward to a big juicy patch wich makes this game finally finished

Firstly, in 2011 we should all be aware of how to quote properly on a forum. There’s a little button bottom right of every post. Click it when you want to reply directly to a point.

“as good” is subjective. Some games have much better lighting and effects etc… but the overall style of Brink, for me at least, is so much greater than the generic standard.

Sure, BLOPS looks nicer from a technical standpoint, but god is that game boring in terms of any kind of artistic value.

That wasn’t my point. My point was it is unfair to belittle one game that had significant issues at launch and ignore other successful games which also had issues at launch. It’s not fair to compare a Brink’s current status to the current status of a game that has 8 months worth of patches (about 17-20 if you include server patches).
EDIT: I reread my message. I rambled. Point wasn’t clear. Sorry.

My Specs

AMD Phenom 2 955: 4.06ghz
ATI Radeon HD 4870 1GB: GPU: 835mhz MEM: 925Mhz
Resolution: 1920X1200

For my pc to not even play this game well at low settings is a joke! Hell I lower the settings and all that does is lower the GPU usuage, it doesnt help performance! Yeah Im pissed the game runs like **** because Ive played more demanding games just fine! Hell BFBC2 uses 4 cores and stress my GPU more and I can still play with all settings high! Wait a couple of months my fat white ass!
You’re sad if you’re a pc gamer and you can’t get it to run; Runs Great on my iMac 27 windows 7 ati 4750 mobility Radeon HD. See you in game…wait nevermind.

fanboy alert!

Your connection must be ****. Last time i lagged in BFBC2 was a week after release…

(weeschwee) #26

i think he says he has a gtx580 which is nvidia. i have a 460. his card should blow mine out of the water, but i don’t have any problems running the game. my biggest performance issue is a hint of mouse lag in menus due to the always shifting character being rendered real time in the background. even still, it is much better than a lot of others.

Pretty funny review…

For a guy who is a “PC person” you sure do like to compare this game to Call of Duty and Halo. Also, lol a 9 something on Crysis 2? Really? Really mang? -in fake British accent- ARE YOU DAFT MATE?
Interesting that you reference BC2. That game also had ATI issues when it was release. Don’t you remember? The issues were patched in within a couple of weeks. Honestly, it’s not uncommon to for games to have ATI issues. I’m an ATI user as well, but I think my model, the 5850, doesn’t have as many issues as other games.
Other BC2 issues you make have forgotten:
Master server going down in the first 2 weeks. This meant NOBODY could play.
Horrible, horrible hit detection issues. Fixed by reducing server loads (within the first month) and moving the hit boxes behind the player models (several months to fix. Hit detection is still broken with some vehicles.
The UMP reload animation bug
Friends lists getting deleted.
Server browser being slightly broken for at least a month.
The AN94 and AT4 balancing debacles (patch).
The blue chatbox patch problem (patch).
I could go on.

Borderlands (port forwarding issuse, fov), CoD2, CoD4, WaW, MW2, and BlackOPs all have had bugs on release. I’m not saying Brink is perfect, I’m just saying the same **** happens for all games. Reviewers and gamers singling out Brink is unfair when the bugs only affect one game’s score and not all games across the board.
Ok, first the issues you mentioned didnt make the game unplayable for ATI users, yes there were some balance issues and some registration issues. The people that had driver issues were from the brand new 5k series cards when BFBC2 came out. the driver issues here are an across the board problem! I never have a problem with my 4870 running BFBC2, even in the beta.

I havent forgotten the issues of BFBC2, the issues were their but didnt make the game unplayable. The only time the servers went down is when they did the first update and it wasnt for 2 weeks.

the same **** for all games really? Cause i havent heard of any game breaking bugs from Portal 2. I can forgive a developer for some bugs, but they released the game early because they said it was finished! Clearly the game wasnt even close.

(The_Smurph) #30

LOL really, because of a driver issue, im sad. You are going to have to explain that one.

A good honest review. And all scores form other reviews combined say the same; 7/10. IGN and Gamespot (lame game reviewers) were too harsh with their 6/10.
