Splash Damage/Blizzard partnership.

It looks like a new partnership is about to be announced by SD. It was already announced on their partner’s website. I’m not going to hide it further : DB’s new partner is nothing else than the studio behind Overwatch : Blizzard. Not really sure how I feel about this considering the mess that OW is.

Jeff Kaplan expressed himself on that subject:

"I was always a big fan of Enemy Territory myself. I fondly remember those thousand of hours I passed in this game, fragging my way through the objective. Because Enemy Territory was one of our biggest inspiration for the developpement of Overwatch, it’s a real honor to start that partnership with Splash Damage. They proved multiple times their expertise when it comes about first person shooter, and the knowledge we can both share would truly benefit both Overwatch and Dirty Bomb in the long run.

We’re also announcing multiple Dirty Bomb related skins based on the most popular DB characters in OW:

  • Proxy skin for Tracer.
  • Phantom skin for Gengi.
  • Aimee skin for Widowmaker.
  • Thunder skin for McCree.
  • Rhino skin for RoadHog.
  • Aura skin for Lucio."

I wonder if SD will release OW themed skins for DB as well, or anything OW related really. Might feel really odd in game. I would like to know what Shoe has to say about all of this.

If it was any other day @Eox I might’ve been inclined to believe you… but seeing that it’s April Fool’s Day you aren’t fooling me. It’s a very good attempt, though, it is almost believable and the parallels drawn between the characters are fairly good; to be honest with you, this would’ve been very convincing if I wasn’t conscious of it being one of most troll-y days of the year. It put a smile on my face to see you getting in on the fun though; it was a very good effort made at an April Fools joke, to say the least, so nicely done there. :stuck_out_tongue:

its a shame, cause this would be really really good actually.

SD always had very impressive creative ideas, and solid gameplay. But since departure from W:ET the games were also heavily plagued by some issues, more technical in nature. Imo Blizzard is the most reliable developer as far as lack of bugs, solid performance and final polish. Match made in heaven.

On the side though, Path of Exile is having a royale gamemode for 24 hours just on April Fools day. Winners get a Rhoa dinner hideout decoration.
