SD, you can take all your fancy charts, grids and echos software and put it where the sun doesn’t shine. We (the users) know how the game should feel or how we want it to feel and this should have been one of you first goals. A balanced simi fun/accurate game would have made alpha testing so much more enjoyable. ITS A FPS (first person SHOOTER!!!) Now all my friends have asked for the refund and I redid my windows and wont put DB back on until the game is balanced or rewards good shots.

This thread is speed vs ttk and I agree something needs to be done about the speed but most important the spread of the guns while moving.

Please fix this game I have no game to play right now but cant stand DB right now or SPB (Spray n Pray Bomb)

As long as it’s not just 24/7 Fragger MG then the reward is there. It could be a lot better, but superior aim is rewarded quite clearly. Changing the ttk and speed would just help increase the skill gap, but there is already a noticeable skill gap already and good shots already get rewarded tl:dr.

Nah, if that’s your opinion okay. Was just surprised about it, because rather the opposite is the case. The current skill gap is really low.

It’s not as big as before, but it’s enough to make a difference. Not what I was talking about. I’m referring specifically to when someone is near the bottom of the scoreboard in kills and starts saying things like “Games broken” “Aim skill is nonexistent” etc. Even if the gap is low, the good shots should always be topping in kills by a fair margin and winning fights (albeit fragger mg is the exception). I hear those complaints more often from the guy who is getting dominated by iwound though, so nuff said. And there’s too often good players who think another good player shouldn’t be able to kill them, which then leads to unhelpful whine. I’ve seen some players in alpha do considerably better than everyone else, so when they kill me I just accept that I need to improve my aim before I start posting about how good of a shot I think I am.

You do find that the same group of players get way more kills than anyone else on the server by quite a margin and sway the balance of games depending on what team they are on. I’m with INF3RN0, perhaps the game isn’t rewarding those players they way they would like but they certainly aren’t being held back in comparison to anyone else.

There is a gap right now (small), but IMO what is missing is the kills after the first kill. The kills that gets your heart going because u are in a first fight and you know a guy is coming around the back to back rage you and you need to whip a 180 as soon as you kill him and you know you need to 3 dink him inorder to win and you do! O Boy the RUSH! You know that person is soooo pissed because they saw your back or heard you in a fire fight and thought they had a easy kill or clean up.

I have said it before if I can get 3 kills in a crazy 1 clip heart racing fire fight then the game has it right.


Here’s an idea and I am bias toward the medic.

What if the current damage is kept for medic vs FO/Soilder… HOWEVER the medic is much lighter and more mobile then the other but a weaker gun. Reduce the spread, movement spread and recoil of that gun. (5 HS)
FO/Soilder more reward less spread while still or crouched. HUGE spread while moving. (3 HS)
Balance the body shot damage…
Shotgun balance = Moving forward only less spread. side to side and backwards large spread… Have you ever shot a shotgun while moving side to side or backwards? I have not fun moving forward is a different story very easy actually. By Moving I mean running FYI.

Just suggestion to test.

SD new Goal Multi kills!!! (With a weak main (Medic) gun)

Right. But it’s not about “who thinks who is better”, it’s about the game. I still see the better players getting more kills, but it’s still not comparable to what could be possible. You got a different opinion here, fine.

Compared to ET the skill gap is lower.
Its easier to track someone in XT, and also you get Ironsight - which reduces spread. In a 1vs1 I guess the better players would always win, but in teams its different, as the game is not fast enough.

Don’t know if I am to slow to see it, one thing I love in ET, is I can anticipate my enemy. I can see where he is aiming at. I am not sure if I see in XT if someone IS’ing, or even the turns. Sometimes I die so quickly, I think it has todo with antilag - since both me and my enemy had a ping below 50. So for me

Not what I was saying. There is a skill gap, but it’s not as big as ET/ETQW. It’s bigger than a game like CoD by far though. Point was that there is a skill gap regardless, and those that do well already will just do better if it increases. Do I think the skill gap should increase? Yes. I just think that many times people get unnecessarily angry because they think they should be doing a lot better, but the fact is that there’s still a lot of room for self improvement. I’ve seen capable players pull of lots of multi-kills and land consistent headshots, but even then there’s still human error in their aim. A big part of DB is positioning and smart play also, where in many people are used to impulsive aggression and better aiming to always result in success.

So curious though what you want to see? I’d like to see faster strafe speeds, less body damage, and a 2.25x hs mp for rifles.

And that’s a problem. I’m doing fairly “well” myself, so far I’ve had no issues getting positive kill/death ratios merely by having a slightly stronger aim than the players I’ve met on scrims/pub servers, which bothers me. There’s such a huge limitation on spam in this game that it appears to solely base one’s “skill” on positioning, map-awareness and aim. Spam is an integral part to just about any FPS game - ever, and I feel limiting nade access to one specific player class as well as the seemingly joke of an airstrike we currently have, aim simply dominates. I’m far from a good aimer in comparison to certain top players, and the one thing that made me able to compete is reliant to spam, proper timing (see spawnsystem/time debate) and better positioning. One thing I’d want to see is… more nade accessibility to give smart players (ie clown/night/ross/toxic in ET, far from good aimers, in fact… probably worse than your average med skilled player, yet considered among the best in the game simply because of their superb spamming abilities) a chance to overcome the whole “I need aim to be good at this game” situation, without having to permanently position yourself for backrapes.

i’d like to see:

  • optimization passes (hard for me to say how the game is supposed to actually behave atm.)
  • no view kick when hit (to make it slightly less about positional play only… and, yes, my situational awareness is pure crap.)
  • some kind of tweak to make the strafing feel less nauseating/sloshy? (acceleration issue? idk.)
  • slightly lower RoF and spread to make situations where someone is camping/waiting for you with IS less one-sided (= evasion/returning fire more of an option.)
  • cough cough reload/sprint mumble mumble something…
  • more damage falloff on long range for AR’s and MG’s.

Honestly, i don´t know what is going wrong.

When i joined the alpha spring 2013, it was awesome to play. I really enjoyed it and couldn´t get enough.
Now its just meh…

Xt is changing into a generic modern military shooter with a compressed skill gap.
All of the little public playthings (mines, throwing-knifes, automatic 3D-Spotting, etc)
getting added that you have in CoD and Battlefield, too.
The game gets slower every patch,
and why the **** would you remove grenades? No more cooking and they would be fine.

All this wouldn´t be so bad if we had a fast paced gameplay and a nice high skill ceiling.

“Shaped by Gamers”, “The new, old school FPS”, “Captures the Magic of ET”, doesn´t really feel like that to me.
“WELCOME TO EXTRACTION THE NEW HIGHLY COMPETITIVE PC FIRST PERSON SHOOTER…” no words.
If this bull**** keeps up, i don´t feel my opinions any longer recognized and will ask for a refund, too.

you use a yellow dot as a crosshair on a game that has yellow backgrounds while complaining of no crosshair options, You can use a RED one
