How to reduce your download speed to go to a server? for example, the speed of 1kb / a?

I got 10kb/s,but other download goes to 760kb/s
I don´t know why it is that “bug”,but I suggest that you download files from server FTP what are you gonna visit.
Like EliteArmy has this www.elitearmy.eu/pk3 I also think that other clans could have this.
Hellreturn: Where I can find FA pk3 downloads? Its pretty annoying that after connecting with FA Xpsave,it opens my Firefox with wrong site,where is written: “We have moved to www…”

there is no ‘bug’ in the download system.

Servers that make you download @ 10kb/s means that they pk3 file is not on their redirect server or that they don’t have a redirect server (downloading from the game server) or that their settings are incorrect in the server.cfg

But before you accuse a server of not being set up properly check you have these settings:
cl_allowDownload 1
cl_wwwDownload 1

cl_allowDownload means you will download missing files from the server.
cl_wwwdownload means you will download missing files from a redirect server if their is one available.

As to how to reduce the download speed I don’t know

My settings are ok
seta cl_allowDownload 1
seta cl_wwwDownload 1
Still,it annoys me,downloading 9mb file takes 8 minutes,oh please:eek:
Just download stuff by manually if you got this problem.

this is somehow related to all (?) quake 3 engine-based games. if the server is not using external http server to host their files, the file will be downloaded at low speed (wich protocol is used here?) from game host server.

it has nothing to do with internet speed cause it’s slow as well when u connect to localhost…
