I think there are some stuff they could do to make spectating more entertaining and informative, especially if they want to go for esports.
First of all I think the slight disposition of the player portrait of the one you’re spectating is not very good. Maybe have the name clearly displayed in the lower or upper middle of the screen.
Then there is some basic info missing like seeing player ammo and cooldowns, these things are important, especially in clutch situations.
Always having a clear view of the objective and its status. Like for example on Chapel, there should be some info at the top of the screen or something that tells us that they are on objective 1/2 and then have a line with a dot representing the EV to know how far on that objective the team is at all times. Experienced players can tell how far along the EV has come, but it needs to be clear to people who don’t know the map or even the game how they are doing.
I don’t know if you can do this, but it would be good with keybinds to quickly jump to the objective(s) and other places of interest, jump to a player in action, jump to the player you’re aiming at in freecam etc…
I’m not sure if this is the case, but I suspect it is not. Is the spectator lag compensated? If not that NEEDS to be looked at. It’s not fun to watch in first person if the crosshair does not align with where the player actually is shooting. Seeing a guy constantly miss and still destroy people takes away any sense of skill. Looks like you’re watching a scrub get lucky, it’s not entertaining.
