spawnpoints

(blizzard) #1

hello

i made a map with some spawn.
the axis spawn is startactive at the main gate.
there are two axis backspawns
so totally 3 axis spawns
if the match starts and the allies blew up the gate the axis spawn back
now here is the problem
if the match starts and the allies haven’t blown up the gate yet, i select a backspawn in the limbo menu after i spawn the first time at the main gate, so i kill my self to check if the backspawns work, and then i spawn stil at the startactive spawn. so if i select a spawn in the limbo menu there is a number 1 near the flag but i don’t spawn there.
the script works because if i blew up the gate i spawn automatically at the first backspawn.
but if i select the second backspawn i still spawn at the first backspawn and this is the same when the map starts. so i don’t spawn somewhere if i selected a spawnpoint in the limbo menu.
the script works but you can’t choose a spawnpoint by yourself because the script do it the whole time for you.

thx blizzard

I might not fully understand your post but. I understood you have 3 defender spawnpoints that are available at the start. All of those should be startactive, and use setautospawn <target_spawn> <team> comand to decide which spawnpoint is prior 1. When a spawnpoint is disabled, remember to disable it with a command too (for example setstate it).

EVERY ACTIVE spawnentity should be marked startactive (or alertentitied, does the same). Every spawnpoint should have a wobj (the flag marker, which you can use to select manually a spawnpoint).

Using setautospawn command uses the description key of the wobj. Basicly you select a spawnpoint by pressing wobj, and you will spawn to the nearest available and active spawnentity.

edit. Reading your post, the problem is probably that the “backspawns” aren’t startactive.

I guess you didn’t linked the wobj’s to the spawns. Then you will start automaticly at the first spawn you created.

i thought you don’t understand me but i thought i give it a try to explain my problem and it’s like you are going through my mind. we fixed it cuz it was what sage said i didn’t make the backspawns startactive.

wezelkrozum thx for help me too but i don’t really understand you cuz i don’t think that the wobj’s linked with the spawns because the targetnames are different just like in other maps (goldrush fueldump) the description and the targetname of the spawn are the same but the description have nothing to do with the linking i thought but maybe i am wrong?
