Sorry if this has been asked before but i could not find anything. Could someone please explain the correct way of setting up spawn points because in my map everyone spawns in the exact same spot meaning that you often spawn inside another player and its not very pleasant. I think i might have forgotten to check either invulnrable or start active, could one of these be the reason why. Thanks in advance
spawn humping
sounds like you left off startactive.
FWIW, invulnerable doesn’t actually seem to control player invulnerability. What it does, if anything, isn’t clear, but SD seems to have set it on all their spawns, so doing the same is probably a good idea. In RTCW, it influenced auto-pick spawning, but that is done with scripts in ET.
thanks for the answer. Can’t believe i forgot to set the spawns properly. I was just playing it on a public server and spawning was quite embarressing
Don’t sweat it. People know it’s a beta and you’ll forget other things too. Just wait until mortars start exploding randomly in mid air
LOL, I think I did the same thing with the narfpractice conversion. No one has complained yet
thanks for the replies. Do i need to tie the spawns into a script? i only have one spawn area for each side so i dont need to script any spawn changes but i noticed that goldrush default allied spawn has a scriptname key but when i looked in the script i could not see what it does
No, you shouldn’t need to. Goldrush may give them a script key so they can be removed in LMS mode.
