Spawn camping

(rookie1) #1

To protect spawn points I recommend something like this
You can look at it like a side objec that protect the Spawn aera from enemies campers.
Its an fixed auto turret where you (SD) can put any where (top buildings high /low )
But the switch to activated/repair can be place at ground level or in a room etc…
With a High health/shield/damage porperties that can be damaged/desactivated and repairable should push ennemies away from spawn aeras

You can also place some in other aeras where the switch could be more at risk position (harder to activated due to be on ennemies sight) and lower the turret properties (health/shield/damage)
Turrets can anything you wish to do ( bullets, laser, rocket)

One turret in WC garage (1st object) could be handy , this switch could be place in a riskier zone

Auto-turrets are symptom treatment for poor spawn placement.

You dont need any turrets, 3s spawn shields that dont disappear after you start shooting will be more than enough to keep enemy team out of the spawn, Unfortunately it wont prevent rape outside

We’re currently focussed towards working on spawn placements, layouts, travel times and creating/maintaining balanced teams.

When we’re happy with these we’ll see if any additional spawn protection is needed.

Turrets are unlikely but things like an improved spawn shield and perhaps spawn radars (auto spotting the nearby camping enemies) aren’t outside the realm of possibility.

spawn radars = interesting !!

Spawn shields that don’t disappear when you shoot + spawn radars = who needs turrets anyways

(tokamak) #7

Spawn radars, now that’s elegant. The main advantage spawncampers have is the spawners not having an immediate orientation on them.

(prophett) #8

You’ll never stop it. Just back up 5 feet out of the radar range and continue on.

Yeah but at what distance does it stop being spawn camping and becomes choke point holding or just normal area control? You can have mechanisms to prevent one team trapping the other in their spawn and giving them no chance to organize before moving out, but past that point a team has to be able to fend for itself without the game holding its hand…

cant remember the game, but i’m sure there was one were you took damage if you shot into the enemy spawn zone - essentially dealing yourself damage. not saying it’s a good idea, as you’d need to figure out how far to make that spawn zone - eg. whitechapel doesnt have much room between offense spawn and obj for example.

Need an alternate route :]

an Fix Safe House Health Station in the zone ?
