Spawn camping at Trainyard

In the final part of Trainyard there is a direct line of sight to defenders spawn point from the little courtyard where the ammo is. Snipers can easily kill spawning players. Perhaps some fence in the line of sight would be good. So far it’s not a big deal as most snipers don’t know about it or just don’t use it. But it gets annoying when someone headshots you just after you spawned and you have to wait again.

Maybe if they just stand there till their Shield buff goes away. You spawn with 100% protect against damage for a few seconds. You have plenty of time to run past the sniper’s attempt to kill you, and if you’re fast and acrobatic enough you can easily flank that sniper.

You have to go through the entire hangar thing with him being able to snipe you and yes acrobatics help but you don’t expect it the first time and later if he lands one shot you go in weakened to the fight. As i said it’s not a big deal but it’s annoying when it happens, and if he manages to get 2 or 3 players before your team wises up it can turn the game as they wait a full spawn cycle. It would be an easy fix to just put something in the line of sight without impacting the map design much.

That entire hanger thing is pretty small and you can get out of it way before your shield goes away. Also you can jump out the window.

And in the game.

Trainyard is the worst map in the game, and defenders complaining about spawnkilling on the last objective when most pubs don’t even make it past the first is the least of its problems.

Even the second part is a pretty tough fight. Though I wouldn’t say Trainyard is that bad, the second objective area is probably my favorite because of all the different routes. Honestly, Chapel is probably the worse since defenders spawn right on top of the second objective when Attackers have to run across half the map every time they die. (Use to hate Bridge till I learned why it’s called Bridge and how important it is to control said Bridge.)
