Sparks, Worth buying?

(Split) #1

I’m planning to spend a good 50.000 credits on her but I’m not sure if she’s for me. I want to play her as a support but is her medpacks that bad?
In the end is she worth it?

If you have a good aim, she’s fine and extremely rewarding. But if you want a medic who can be polyvalent, choose phoenix or sawbones.
Sparks is extremely weak and has no firepower and bad heal ability. She’s just good with revive.
In combat, you must stand at the back of your team and don’t expose yourself.
If you want kill a lot of people and heal lot af allies, she’s not the right merc.
With healing ability:
-Sawbones can completely heal up to 3 teammates in a row every 30s
-Phoenix can heal up to 100Hp every merc near him every 20s
-Aura can continuously heal people if they’re on your station
-Sparks can heal up to 160Hp every 40s
Sparks healing ability is more a bonus than a real healing ability.

Sawbonez is out of the question since I find him quite boring to play but do you have any other merc recommended? Pheonix I already have.

I want a new medic in the game

Pheonix is very fast-paced and fun. - I’d look into him. He gets good guns and a slight bonus with his self-revive, if used right. (out of direct combat)

If you plan on buying sparks you need to learn how to use the revive gun, such as reviving and killing with it. Sparks is very weak up close so stay as far as you can from the enemy. Her medpacks are pretty bad, sure its instant heal but it takes at least 2 to 3 of them to heal a 120 hp merc. If you want a good well rounded medic I recommend Sawbonez, he is easy to use and his medpacks restore anyone to full health, another good medic is Phoenix, his healing pulse is good for healing teamates who are in combat situations, or under fire. His healing pulse can instant heal and gives a good amount of health. Sparks is a bit harder to play but you will get the hang of it.

If you already have phoenix (and aura) and don’t like sawbones, so the only one you can buy is sparks. But if you want to be able to heal people with efficiency, just take sawbones.
He is the basic medic, maybe a bit less fun to play, but he’s the best medic as support.
I prefer sparks only because I main her. She’s very different from other medics, but very hard to play with.

(Split) #7

You have any other mercs recommended though, I’m an experienced DB player but I haven’t got that many mercs

(Your worst knifemare.) #8

Sparks is one of those high risk high rewards mercs. As long as you dont rush head first into the enemy and instead play stragetic and supportive, you would enjoy playing as her. (Sadly her and Pheonix are the only 2 mercs i have and Pheonix came for free a week after i got Sparks)

I can’t stand Sparks post-nerf. Scoring headshots doesn’t feel rewarding anymore and team-healing potential is (still) null.

(briefVein) #10

I agree… head shots are not that rewarding anymore even with the 15% melee increase augment (which i belive applies to rev gun)
But i like sparks… shes quick and the med packs can help heal u on the run from enemy fire by just tossing them infront of you…

I also got a suspect card for her yesterday so it looks cool to

(RedBeard) #11

TOO bad I cant give you a special 273 loadout card. Trading loadouts?

Why would melee augment apply to REVIVR?

(briefVein) #13

Idk at one time someone told me revs count as melee damage

She’s the worst medic when it comes about sustaining the team with health. However, she’s insane when it comes about reviving people. Because you can use her both as a medic and a makeshift sniper, she’s extremely versatile and does a great job as a secondary medic.

If you have some experience with long range mecs and snipers, she’ll be a very nice addition to your team. Especially if you oftenly play with a friend who plays Aura, Sawbonez or Phoenix (especially Sawbonez).

About her medpacks, they’re terrible for healing the team, but great for sustaining yourself or a single player. It’s a wise move to use them for yourself and keeping alive a key member of the team (most of the time, the main medic).
